Princess Anne’s Unexpected Two-Word Message Emerges After Reported Balmoral Talks Following Harry’s Return
Princess Anne delivered a simple but encouraging message during an unexpected encounter in Scotland, shortly after reports that senior members of the Royal Family had gathered with King Charles at Balmoral.
The Princess Royal reportedly crossed paths with digital content creator Finlay Jacobs while he was out running near the royal estate.
Jacobs later described the surprise meeting on Instagram, explaining that a Land Rover pulled up outside a house as he ran past.
“I just went past this house, and this Land Rover pulls up as I’m running by, and this lady gets out,” he recalled.
“She goes, ‘Hello’, and I was like, ‘Hi.’”
Runner stunned after recognising Princess Anne
Jacobs said he initially failed to realise who had spoken to him. It was only after looking again that he recognised King Charles’s younger sister.
“I look again, and I’m like, it’s Princess Anne, Princess Anne of Scotland; it’s like, what the heck,” he said.
According to the content creator, Anne then offered him two brief words of encouragement: “Keep going.”
The unexpected remark appears to have made a lasting impression on Jacobs, who was surprised to encounter the Princess Royal during an ordinary run.
Despite recognising Anne, he decided against asking for a photograph or attempting to record their interaction. Jacobs explained that he wanted to respect her privacy rather than interrupt her time away from official engagements.
His account offered a rare glimpse of the 76-year-old royal in a relaxed and informal setting. Anne is widely regarded as one of the monarchy’s most hardworking members, regularly completing a packed schedule of public duties across Britain and overseas.
She is understood to have been staying at Balmoral with her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, as members of the Royal Family enjoy their traditional summer break in Scotland.
Reported royal discussions at Balmoral
The encounter emerged amid reports that King Charles had recently met senior royals at Balmoral following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to Britain.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in the UK with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, after spending six years primarily based in California.
Prince William and Princess Catherine were reportedly among those who spent time with the King at the Scottish residence. However, the Palace has not disclosed details of any private family conversations or confirmed whether Harry and Meghan’s arrival was formally discussed.
There is also no indication that Anne’s encouraging message to Jacobs was connected to the Sussexes’ return. The encounter simply occurred against the backdrop of heightened attention surrounding the Royal Family.
Harry and Meghan’s arrival has renewed speculation about their future relationship with King Charles, Prince William and other senior royals. The Sussexes are expected to remain in Britain for an extended period, although they have not publicly confirmed where they intend to live.
Reports suggest they will stay in a private residence rather than return to an official royal property. They are also not expected to resume duties as working members of the monarchy.
For Anne, however, the focus appeared to remain far removed from the ongoing speculation. Her spontaneous “Keep going” message was brief, private and characteristically direct, turning one runner’s ordinary journey through Scotland into an encounter he is unlikely to forget.
