Lara Trmp, President Donald Trmp’s daughter-in-law and former co-chair of the Republican National Committee, is rejoining Fox News, where she once worked as a contributor.
The conservative network announced on Wednesday that she will host her own show, “My View with Lara Trmp,” which will air on Saturdays at 9 p.m. Eastern starting on Feb. 22.
“I’m thrilled to bring my voice back to Fox News, talk directly with the American people, and highlight what makes this country so great,” Lara Trmp said in a press release. “As I cover the success of The Golden Age of America, I look forward to where this time will lead our country and where this opportunity will lead me in the future.”
It’s yet another instance of the revolving door relationship between the president’s inner circle and the Rupert Murdoch-owned television network. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was a longtime commentator and host at Fox News before being tapped to join the Pentagon by Trmp in November. And Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy previously co-hosted “The Bottom Line” on Fox Business.
Lara Trmp married the President’s second son, Eric, in 2014. Her show will focus on “the return of common sense to all corners of American life,” said the network.
Lara Trmp is not the first member of a first family to find a gig in news media. Perhaps the most prolific is Jenna Bush Hager, former President George W. Bush’s daughter who has worked at NBC since 2009 — after her father left office — and currently hosts “TODAY with Jenna and Friends” on weekday mornings.
And the news is something of a homecoming for Lara Trmp. Early in her career, she worked as a producer at CBS and then served as a contributor at Fox during the first years of the Biden administration.
The move comes after Trmp in December removed her name from consideration for the Florida Senate seat freed up by Marco Rubio’s ascension to the State Department. Ashley Moody, formerly the state’s attorney general, was instead appointed to fill the seat by Gov. Ron DeSantis.
“A gifted communicator who knows how to connect to the viewers, successful entrepreneur and working mother, Lara’s innate understanding of the American public and today’s political landscape will be a compelling addition to our weekend lineup,” Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media, said in a press statement.
