Weeks after he was missing from “Good Morning America”, Michael Strahan made his return, leaving his co-hosts in tears.
A spokesperson previously confirmed that “Michael Strahan is dealing with some personal family matters. We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns.”
Strahan did not address the reason behind his absence, but once he made his return, his co-hosts Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos broke down in tears. Roberts stated, “Can I just say we have tears of joy because we have Michael back here at the desk with us?”

In his return, the “Good Morning America” co-host seemingly beamed with joy as he replied to Roberts stating, “It is great to be back with both of you … and it’s great to see Jeremy Renner conquering another mountain or hill as he’s on his way to recovery,” jumping back into one of the top stories of the morning.
Strahan is known for his time in the NFL, but after retirement, he has been co-hosting morning shows, including “Live With Kelly and Michael” and now, “Good Morning America.”
During his time on “GMA”, Strahan has conducted many memorable interviews, including one with NFL star Damar Hamlin, who, on January 2, 2023, suffered cardiac arrest in the middle of the field during the first quarter of the Monday Night Football game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Hamlin was down on the field for several minutes as medical personnel rushed onto the area and gave him CPR for 9 minutes as his heart stopped. After reviving him, Hamlin was loaded into an ambulance and taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Hamlin was then treated at the hospital, and triumphantly made a full recovery, even being cleared by medical personnel a few months ago to return to football.
Just one month after the scary incident, Hamlin sat down with Michael Strahan on “Good Morning America” to talk about how grateful he is to be alive.
“That just kinda put things in perspective for me, you know, hearing it from the doctor,” Hamlin told Strahan during the one-on-one interview. “Things could have gone differently and the details of the situation of everything that happened on the field — it could have been — it could have been the last of me.”

After being treated in the hospital, the very first thing Hamlin asked was “Did we win?” Doctors replied, “Yes. You won the game of life,” he said.
“I’m just thankful [God] gave me a second chance, you know, just to live normally and just come out almost without a scratch on me,” Hamlin told Strahan in the interview. “Just to be able to keep going.”
On October 1, 2023, the Buffalo Bills Safety made his regular-season debut.
