Tess Daly is putting herself first. The presenter, who split from her husband, Vernon Kay, in May, is encouraging women to make themselves “unavailable” when it comes to me-time. Taking charge of a new campaign for Wellwoman, ambassador Tess explained why it’s so important for women to give themselves grace, rather than feeling bombarded by everyday life. “It’s about making yourself unavailable,” Tess said (via The Mirror).
“If it’s an hour, fantastic, if it’s 15 minutes just sitting in your car, that’s alright too. We’re talking about a little time for yourself where you can reset, re-evaluate, and just make space for yourself.”
The former Strictly star, who shares daughters Phoebe and Amber with Vernon, added: “I know that for a lot of women who are caring for family, or are mothers, you have got your responsibilities. But nothing’s going to crash and burn if you do take that little slice of time.”

Advising women to take a break from their phones where possible, Tess noted that for her, one of the best ways to unwind is catching up with friends.
“I really enjoy chatting over something like a three-hour lunch. We’ve got to keep reminding ourselves, it shouldn’t be a luxury to create time for yourself. It’s that simple,” she said.
In recent months, Tess, 57, has been focusing on her swimwear brand, Naia Beach, as well as co-parenting her daughters with Vernon.
Earlier this month, the TV star returned from a sun-soaked holiday in the South of France. Posting snaps from her family’s travels, Tess confirmed that she was joined by Vernon, Phoebe, and Amber.
Following the post, which included a photo of the quartet at dinner, Tess and Vernon were commended on their commitment to co-parenting. “Love that you all stick together. So cool and inspirational,” replied Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo. Echoing this sentiment, fans were also delighted to see the family together. “Love this pic. Keep doing this, and you’ll all be fine,” commented one. “Gorgeous photo and so lovely to see you all together, so important for the girls. Well done on remaining great friends,” added a second.
Meanwhile, a third raved, “That’s how you do it. Let’s hope others learn from you. What a healthy relationship,” and a fourth remarked: “You, Vern and the girls are an inspiration. How to be a family even when you have separated romantically.”
