Josh Jacobs is going to have to explain his latest comments to his teammates.
The Green Bay Packers had a heck of a season in 2024. They went 11-6, made the playoffs, and Jordan Love continued to develop into a franchise quarterback.
Jacobs also had a great first season with the franchise, as the team was top 10 in scoring offense and defense.
However, the squad still finished third in the division and lost in the first round of the playoffs.
Josh Jacobs appeared on Radio Row at Super Bowl LIX and offered a shocking assessment of the Packers’ situation.
When asked about his offseason wishlist for the Packers, the former first-round pick responded that he wants a “proven” No. 1 wide receiver for their offense.
“We need a wide receiver – a real wide receiver. Love the guys we have but we need a proven No. 1,” Jacobs said, via Chris Simms.

Unfortunately for Josh Jacobs, he has seemingly upset his wide receiver teammates.
Right after the running back shared his honest opinion during Super Bowl week at the Radio Row, Dontayvion Wicks put out a bunch of laughing emojis and a thumbs down as well.
Jayden Reed also discussed the topic, focusing on the fans’ social media responses to Jacobs’ words.
Reed led the receiving group for the second consecutive year, with 55 receptions, 857 yards, and six touchdowns.
Wicks finished the 2024 season with 39 receptions, 415 yards, and five touchdowns.
Josh Jacobs Had Solid Season In First Year With The Packers
Running back Josh Jacobs departed from the Raiders last offseason to sign a four-year, $48 million deal with the Packers.
That turned out to be a great decision.
Jacobs rushed for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns, giving the Packers a focal point out of the backfield.

Former Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs has revealed having snubbed the Kansas City Chiefs, who he says made advances to sign him in free agency ahead of his move to the Green Bay Packers this offseason.
Jacobs joined the NFC North side on a four-year deal worth $48 million. Speaking in an interview with The Athletic, he claimed to have had no intentions of leaving Vegas but was forced to as the franchise ultimately failed to match the contract offer he received from Green Bay.
According to Jacobs, the Packers weren’t the only team interested in his signature after last season, with the Chiefs also keen on getting him on their roster. The RB claims the reigning Super Bowl champions were desperate to sign him, but he didn’t have any interest as he has “genuine hate” for them, given the five years he spent with a rival team.
“They were trying to get me hard,” he disclosed. “But there was no way I was going there. I feel like once you are rivals with somebody, you have a genuine hate for them. I couldn’t see myself in that color. And besides, I never wanted to be the guy that joined the dominant team. I want to be the guy that beats the dominant team.”
Ouch…

The New York Giants Also Tried To Sign Josh Jacobs
Jacobs told the publication the New York Giants were also looking to make a move for him and offered him $3-4 million more than the Packers did. Still, he chose to play for Green Bay.
While he’s no longer with the Raiders, the two-time Pro Bowler still considers himself a direct rival of Andy Reid’s side and will hope to inflict damage on them at some point. As it turns out, the Packers will have to make it to the Super Bowl if there’s to be any chance of doing so in 2024, as they aren’t scheduled to play each other during the regular season.
