However, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, 34, asked about the rumored fourth installment of the Star Trek reboot franchise.
Zoe previously played the role of Communications Officer Nyota Uhura in the past three installments.
“Is there anything you can share?” she asked.
Before the Guardians of the Galaxy star replied to Alyssa’s question, Zoe turned to Whoopi, 68, and started giggling.
“Maybe?” Whoopi smiled and laughed.
“Just a little,” Zoe added.
Joy, 81, interrupted the laughing fit between the moderator and actress.
“Don’t tip your hand yet,” Joy barged in.
“Say what?” Whoopi asked.
“Don’t tip your hand yet. Don’t tell them you got the job yet.”

Whoopi looked at Joy in shock and opened her eyes wide.
“Did you get the job?” Alyssa asked.
“For Star Trek? Oh my god!” Zoe pressed as well.
“What is happening right now?” Whoopi shouted to the laughing audience.
“I have no other work. I’m trying to get home.”
“Do you have it or not?” Joy yelled.
“I don’t know!” Whoopi responded.
STAR TREK LEGACY
In 1988, the Ghost actress appeared in Season 2 of Star Trek: The Next Generation with Sir Patrick Stewart, 83.
Patrick played the leading role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, while Whoopi portrayed the recurring character of Guinan.
In 1995, the two reunited for the cinematic spinoff, Star Trek: Generations.

IN THE WORKS
Elsewhere during the interview, Zoe confirmed a new Star Trek film is in the works from The Flight Attendant creator Steve Yockey.
“I just found out simultaneously as you guys that they hired a new writer, and they’re working on a fourth script,” she commented.
“It was a wonderful experience getting to incarnate these characters as part of such a legendary show that marked people’s lives, and it continues to do that.”
