Broadcaster Eamonn Holmes was “very lucky” to escape serious injury after a nasty fall saw him rushed to hospital recently.
Eamonn, 65, was taken away in ambulance following the accident last Friday (May 2), with the presenter telling Instagram fans: “An unexpected journey this morning.”
Amid concern from anxious fans, Eamonn later reflected how “life’s not easy these days” as he shared a snap from his hospital bed. He has also voiced fears how the tumble and a subsequent blow to the head left him so shook up Eamonn was concerned it could be fatal.

‘Never had a bang to the head as powerful as that’
Speaking on GB News in recent days, Eamonn recalled how his feet “just went up” as he fell.
He revealed the floor was “wet”, and: “That’s not the first time I’ve slipped in there.”
Eamonn also described his injury as “the worst bang to my head and shoulders”. However, he believes being in “shock” kept him distance from what was happening.
Eamonn went on: “I went down and said: ‘I’m dead.’ I have never had a bang to the head as sore and as powerful as that before. I lay there and I thought, where’s the blood? [But] there was nothing. No blood, none split, nothing like that.”
The TV personality also noted how he was able to signal he needed help.
“Once I was down, I couldn’t get up,” Eamonn said. “Luckily, my phone was within reach and so I was able to phone someone and they came and they decided I needed an ambulance. The ambulance when they arrived decided I needed an ambulance too.”
