Meghan Markle is reportedly preparing to step back into the British charity scene as she and Prince Harry begin what could be their most significant new chapter in the UK since stepping down as working royals.
The Duchess of Sussex is said to be considering a return to causes close to her heart once children Archie and Lilibet are settled into their new routine — potentially bringing Meghan back into contact with organisations and people she worked with during her time as a senior member of the Royal Family.
The claims were highlighted by royal expert Roya Nikkhah, who shared a report from The Sunday Times suggesting that Meghan is looking to “rekindle” her links with British charities.
And according to sources close to the couple, the Sussexes are eager to make their return work.
“They’re excited about being back and everything that’s to come,” one source reportedly said.
But for now, the family is keeping a deliberately low profile.
A friend of Harry and Meghan reportedly said the couple are “trying to avoid being spotted” as they concentrate on getting Archie and Lilibet settled before the children start school.
“They are still unpacking at home and getting over the jet lag,” the insider said.
Behind the scenes, however, Meghan is apparently already thinking about her next move.
One source told Nikkhah that the Duchess is hoping to “pick up with a lot of people”, suggesting that her return to Britain could involve reconnecting with a network of contacts built during her royal years.
Meghan is also reportedly looking beyond her previous projects, with plans to support new causes alongside organisations she has championed in the past.
Among the most notable is Smart Works, the charity that helps unemployed women prepare for job interviews and return to the workplace. Meghan previously served as its patron during her time as a working royal.
The organisation has already offered a warm welcome to the Sussexes, saying it was “very excited to welcome the Duchess and her family back to the UK”.
The message could prove significant as Meghan considers how much of her public life she wants to rebuild on British soil.
Her return to charity work would represent a striking shift after years in California, where she and Harry have developed a new life and pursued commercial, philanthropic and media projects.
It also raises a tantalising question: could Meghan’s renewed British presence eventually become far more visible than it is now?
For the moment, the Sussexes appear determined to put family life first. But with their children settling in, old connections being revived and new causes reportedly under consideration, Meghan’s next chapter in Britain may already be taking shape.
