Nikki Ross Bellamy has sadly d!ed aged 54. The Houston based gospel singer recently stopped touring to address some health issues, which included symptoms of temporary blindness. No cause of d3ath has been provided. The popular singer has recorded with the likes of Kirk Franklin, Ricky Dillard, James Fortune, Israel Houghton, PJ Morton, Harry Connick Jr., Robert Glasper and Kim Burrell, just to name a few.
Her church, New Jerusalem Cathedral announced the news of her d3ath on Facebook on August 14. “Sis. Nikki was more than an extraordinary voice,” the statement began. “She was a beloved daughter of this ministry whose remarkable gift carried her before audiences around the world while her roots remained deeply connected to her church family. Her voice was unmistakable, her presence unforgettable, and the impact of her music and ministry reached far beyond the walls of the church.

“She was deeply loved by her church, cherished by her Bishop, and embraced by a community that celebrated the tremendous gift God placed within her,” it read. “While countless people came to know Sis. Nikki through her music and public ministry, we had the privilege of knowing and loving the woman behind the voice.”

“The world heard her voice,” the church’s statement added. “We knew her heart. Both have left an indelible mark that will not be forgotten.”
Tributes poured in for the gospel singer, most notably, from American actor Harry Connick Jr, who paid a touching tribute.

Sharing a photo of the pair together on Instagram, he wrote: “My heart is broken. Nikki ross, one of the greatest singers to ever live, has d!ed. She was a hero of mine. I had the honor of singing with her on “Love Wins”, with @kimburrelllove, @doobiepowell, @prophesyingguitarist, and @jimmygreenemusic… I’ll always keep you close, sweet Nikki. God bless your beautiful family. I love you, @nikki.l.ross.”
Fans flocked to the comment section, as one wrote: “Absolutely heartbreaking.”
Another remarked: “She spoke very highly of you! Thank you for your kindness to our amazing sister. God bless you.”
A third penned: “So sorry for your loss and that of her family, friends, & fans. May her memory be a blessing to you until you meet again.”
