SAD NEWS before going on air: GMA host Ginger Zee faced a M3ntal Health Cr1sis – almost cancelled her debut – what really happened to her?

Ginger Zee, ABC’s chief meteorologist, has written an inspiring memoir in which she details her d3pression and her work ethic.
She’s talking about all at The Clinton Book Shop, 12 East Main St., Clinton, on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. The event is free and does not require buying “Natural Disaster: I Cover Them. I Am One” (Kingswell, 282 pp, $26.99) but requires securing a ticket.
In the heartfelt book Zee discloses for the first time that 10 days before she started the ABC gig, she checked herself into a mental health hospital.
She had battled d3pression for years.
Her engaging style never looks for sympathy. Rather, Zee spells out how she felt and why. The scenes about an abusive boyfriend are chilling.
In both cases – lingering d3pression and a controlling boyfriend — Zee sought the help she knew she needed.
In a deeply personal memoir, Ginger Zee recounts her battle with d3pression and how she sought inpatient help before starting a huge job.
The book also does a great job of explaining how hard she worked and for so long to get to where she is. She’s self-deprecating, fun and funny.
