One source said Charles sees his role as bringing influential figures together, listening to different perspectives and encouraging them to consider one central question: “How do we develop AI for the good of humanity?”
Among those expected to take part are Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang, Google DeepMind co-founder Sir Demis Hassabis and IonQ chairman and chief executive Niccolo de Masi.

Charles Wants AI Leaders to Consider Shared Principles
The King is reportedly particularly interested in whether the technology industry could establish a common set of principles surrounding the development of artificial intelligence.
Another source said Charles wants to ask whether such an approach would be helpful, while recognising that reaching an agreement would not necessarily be straightforward.
“His feeling is it is not an easy thing to do, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try,” the source said.
The planned Scottish gathering reflects Charles’ longstanding interest in the potential consequences of AI.
He has previously described artificial intelligence as one of the most significant technological developments in human history, comparing its potential impact with discoveries such as electricity and the splitting of the atom.
Charles addressed the issue publicly during the UK’s AI Safety Summit at Bletchley Park in November 2023.
At the time, he spoke about the enormous possibilities associated with the technology, including its potential to contribute to medical breakthroughs and accelerate progress towards cleaner energy.
But he has also stressed the need for governments, businesses and researchers to work together to manage the risks involved.
His previous interventions have focused on protecting privacy, livelihoods and democratic institutions while ensuring that technological progress benefits society more broadly.

The King’s latest initiative comes as his relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continues to attract intense attention following the Sussexes’ return to Britain.
Meghan recently shared a glimpse of family life in the UK through her Instagram account, showing moments involving Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The footage was the first personal look Meghan had offered at their life in Britain since the family returned after almost six years abroad.
