Strictly pro Aljaz ‘exhausted’ by La Voix’s careless mistakes and dismal scores(Image: BBC)

There is serious tension brewing between Strictly Come Dancing professional Aljaz Škorjanec and his celebrity partner La Voix, according to an eagle-eyed body language expert.

It’s been a tough couple of weeks for the professional dancer and the much-loved RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star as La Voix is continuously being slapped with dismal scores from the judging panel.

Strictly judge Shirley Ballas raised eyebrows as she hit La Voix with a brutal score of just two points on Saturday night, claiming she “can’t judge” the routine at all.

The iconic drag star and her professional partner Aljaz performed a dramatic Cha Cha Cha packed with theatrical flair and full of facial expressions, but their footwork failed to land with the panel.

Overall, the dance partners scored a measly 14 points – landing them at the bottom of the leaderboard and putting them in dance-off danger. Speaking to presenter Claudia Winkleman after the performance, La Voix looked deflated and admitted: “That was terrible,” and was visibly emotional as fellow contestants rushed over for a supportive group hug.

The Strictly judges, Shirley, Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse, and Craig Revel Horwood don’t seem to be backing the drag star, and according to body language expert Judi James, Aljaz could soon grow tired of being partnered with La Voix.

Shedding light on the situation, Judi said: “Apart from some general mistakes, what was disappointing was to see La Voix not totally channelling Tina Turner in this routine, although the blend of drag, Tina and boxing did seem to create cognitive confusion in both La Voix and the fans.”

Speaking in collaboration with Paddy Power Games, Judi suggested that Aljaz seems ‘exhausted’ by the continuous mistakes and low scores.

“La Voix can hopefully keep up with the comedy sufficiently to have several more weeks in the show although there is also serious dancer potential in there, it’s just this week’s routine didn’t bring it out and Aljaz ended up looking exhausted from yelling steps and commands throughout their dance.

“Some Strictly purists might be complaining that this routine should have seen La Voix in the dance-off but when Strictly decided to pit experienced dancers with total beginners they made it impossible to just vote on dance skills alone.

“Of course, they will vote to be entertained as well, and La Voix is exactly what this cheesy show needs in terms of dry, sarcastic one-liners,” Judi shared.

While the judges have proved that they’re not too impressed with the iconic drag star, the same can’t be said for her loyal fans at home. Viewer support was evident on Sunday’s show when the public vote was taken into consideration – saving La Voix from the bottom two and keeping them into the competition for another week.

Some fans say they are throwing their weight behind La Voix because of her brilliant bond with Tess Daly. Many love the relationship between contestant and presenter – and how the drag star loves to rib Tess about what she’s wearing – including praise for “going from bath mat to bedsheet in one week”.

“I’m purely voting for La Voix so they can continue to take the p**s out of Tess on a weekly basis #Strictly” one wrote. Following the weekend exchange, another said: “La Voix needs to stay in for her bants with Tess.”

A third person said on the platform: “May have accidentally, on purpose, voted more than once for La Voix so she can carry on taking the mick out of Tess’s outfits. Oh & possibly once for the best rumba of the evening by Alex & Johannes. #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly”

“I love and adore La Voix. The judges simply just don’t understand her and it’s actually really sad to watch,” another fan shared.
