A Strictly Come Dancing contestant appears to have taken a subtle swipe at Amber Davies following her progression to the BBC programme’s finale. Karen Carney, George Clarke and Amber will all battle it out in the Strictly final next weekend.

EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal was eliminated from the BBC programme at the last moment, with her and professional dance partner Julian departing after a dance-off against Amber. The judges unanimously decided to rescue Amber.

Reflecting on her journey on the programme, Balvinder remarked: “I’ve absolutely adored every single minute. All the dance-offs, all the challenges, but just more than anything, just being in this building and dancing on this floor with such an amazing human being. It was my Yes Year, and I said yes to Strictly. My family, we’ve had some hard times, but they’ve been here,” reports the Mirror.

Addressing Julian, she continued: “You’ve been brilliant in every sense of the word, when I wobbled, and when I felt really brilliant about the dance and got the steps right, you’ve just held me in your hands and you’ve gone, Bal, we’ve got this.

“It’s just me and you, and we’re gonna do this together. And we have done every single dance together, I’ve never felt alone on this floor, and I just want you to remember me. Don’t replace me too soon!”

Nevertheless, it appears Balvinder may have been making a pointed remark about Amber during her departure interview on It Takes Two.

Discussing her experience on the programme and facing off against Amber with Fleur East, she commented: “She’s of a different calibre.

“So going up against Amber, honestly, was game over for us because we’re not of that level. I came into this competition a novice.”

Amber has been on the receiving end of harsh criticism from viewers due to her background in the West End.

She has found herself in the firing line following the dance-off, which resulted in Lewis Cope and Katya Jones exiting the competition.

Following this, Amber confessed: “I would like to think I have thick skin, but obviously, the start of the week has been tougher than usual. I would just like to remind everybody that I was never supposed to be here. I was a quick replacement. I’m just doing my best.”

Nikita also rallied behind his partner with a heartfelt message of support. “You have had so much hate every single day from the moment you joined, you’ve had so much hate this week, and yet, you came every single day into the training room with a big smile, ignoring everybody,” he said, addressing the online trolling Amber has been subjected to.

“And just giving me love, giving me a ginger shot as well. But you gave so much love, you always were kind, so caring, you care more about me when I’m supposed to care about you. You care about me every single day, you are such a lovely kind person.

“And I think sometimes, and I speak to the audience at home, just please be kind because it costs nothing, and you [Amber] don’t deserve any of it. You only deserve love because without you I wouldn’t be here, and the show wouldn’t be as good as it is.”
