Coronation Street has teased fans with a thrilling glimpse of the drama set to unravel in Weatherfield this September, and it’s looking rather bleak for Todd and Theo as their dark storyline takes a turn.

As autumn descends and evenings start to darken, there’s no shortage of excitement on the cobbles to keep viewers gripped, as unveiled in a new trailer from the ITV soap.

Theo Silverton has been causing a stir among Corrie enthusiasts, with his growing hostility towards Todd Grimshaw becoming increasingly evident as the weeks pass.

It’s been some time since the undertaker and builder crossed paths on the cobbles, sparking an immediate connection between them.

However, it later transpired that Theo was concealing a secret family – a wife named Danielle and two children. Struggling with his family’s religious expectations, he admitted to undergoing conversion therapy, reports Leicestershire Live.

More recently, Theo and Todd have been grappling with the interference of Millie Silverton, Theo’s teenage daughter, who is hell-bent on pulling her father away from Todd.

Adding to the tension is the ominous presence of Noah Hedley, the man behind Theo’s conversion therapy. It’s now confirmed that Todd’s romantic life is about to take a chilling twist as Theo’s rage escalates into physical violence. How will Todd manage this heart-wrenching predicament?

Meanwhile, Brody Michaelis is struggling to stay on the right path after his mum, Lou, was imprisoned for her attack on Gary and the man he thought was his dad, Mick, who murdered PC Craig Tinker in May.

Despite the watchful eye of his biological father, DC Kit Green, another local, Carl Webster, has taken a liking to the young lad. Carl, the dubious half-brother of Kevin and Debbie Webster, requires help with his car theft operation and ropes in Brody and Dylan, leading to catastrophic consequences.

Lastly, Carla Connor, having already endured one failed proposal attempt, is determined to propose to her girlfriend, Lisa Swain.

Fans were disappointed earlier in August when the Underworld factory boss’ proposal plans didn’t quite pan out. Carla, having nervously prepared her proposal, was seen waiting at the Rovers Return. However, with Lisa arriving late, Debbie Webster shifted their focus.

Debbie was overheard asking the couple for their thoughts on her own wedding invitations, which led to Lisa getting involved in the conversation.

Debbie then asked Lisa how her late wife, Becky, had proposed, and that’s when Carla’s plan fell apart. Carla revealed that Becky had arranged a dinner where she slipped the engagement ring into a champagne glass.

As Glenda Shuttleworth narrated the story, Carla was on her way. She had a glass of champagne in hand and was about to propose in a similar manner before she suddenly halted.

Yet, the newest sneak peek implies that Carla is set on making it perfect this time, even going as far as seeking the blessing of Lisa’s teenage daughter, Betsy, for Lisa’s hand in marriage. Could ‘Swarla’ be on the verge of their fairy-tale ending?
