‘It’s gonna be fun!’ Emma Willis makes unexpected BBC Strictly confession as she drops major spoile
Emma Willis Lets Slip Strictly Launch Show Surprise as The One Show Hosts Struggle to Hide Their Reaction
Emma Willis has dropped a major hint about what viewers can expect from her Strictly Come Dancing presenting debut after revealing that she has already been rehearsing dance routines.
The former Voice UK presenter appeared on The One Show alongside her husband, Matt Willis, when she unexpectedly disclosed that she had spent part of the day practising her moves.
Her revelation immediately caught presenters Clara Amfo and Roman Kemp off guard, prompting Emma to burst into laughter at their expressions.
“Look at your faces! That’s all I can say,” she teased. “Wait for the launch show. It’s gonna be fun.”
The comment appeared to suggest that Emma could take to the dance floor herself when the new series begins, although she stopped short of revealing exactly what she has planned.

Emma prepares for a new Strictly era
The launch show is scheduled to be recorded on Wednesday, September 9, before airing on Saturday, September 19.
This year’s series marks one of the most significant presenting changes in Strictly history following the departures of longtime hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
Emma has been confirmed as the programme’s new lead presenter. She will be joined by comedian Josh Widdicombe and Strictly professional Johannes Radebe, creating an entirely new hosting trio for the BBC competition.
Roman asked Emma how she was adjusting to life with her two “brand-new TV husbands”.
“Do you know what, great,” she replied. “For the last week, we’ve been spending loads of time together.”
The rehearsals appear to have given the three presenters an opportunity to build their chemistry before stepping in front of the Strictly audience for the first time.

Emma admitted that joining the programme carries enormous significance for her.
“It’s been great. I’m hugely honoured to be part of it,” she said.
She then hinted again that the dance practice she had completed earlier that day would result in some on-screen footwork during the opening episode.
Clara could barely contain her excitement after hearing the revelation and offered an enthusiastic endorsement of the new team.
“You three are going to be fab!” she told Emma.
More changes across the Strictly family
The main presenting team is not the only part of Strictly undergoing a shake-up.
Former contestant Ellie Taylor has been announced as the new host of the BBC spin-off programme It Takes Two. She shared her excitement during a live Radio 2 appearance with Emma.
“I’m absolutely over the moon,” Ellie said. “I feel giddy!”
The full celebrity line-up for the 2026 series has also been confirmed, with Gavin and Stacey actress Melanie Walters revealed as the final contestant.
She joins EastEnders star Lacey Turner, reality television personality Dani Dyer, Australian singer Delta Goodrem and celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton.
The cast also includes Cach Mercer, television presenter Will Best, Paralympian Dame Sarah Storey, actress Jaime Winstone and Bethany Antonia.
Former professional footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips, dog trainer Graeme Hall, actor Lawrence Robb, Tabby Stoecker and John Nellis complete the line-up.

With a new presenting trio, a different face leading It Takes Two and another group of celebrities preparing to compete, the forthcoming series will look noticeably different from previous years.
The biggest immediate question, however, concerns Emma’s cryptic promise about the launch show.
She has not revealed what kind of routine she has been practising or whether Josh and Johannes will join her on the dance floor. Her decision to tell viewers simply to “wait” suggests she intends to keep the full surprise hidden until the programme airs.
For now, Emma’s comments have ensured that her own Strictly moves could become one of the most eagerly awaited moments of the opening night.
