HEARTBREAKING: Loose Women Davina McCall’s Tearful Brain Tumour Admission Right After Engagement Stuns Fans — But What She Revealed Next Is Even More Heartbreaking

Davina McCall fought back tears as she talked about her brain tumour journey on Loose Women on Monday – and defiantly told the panellists: ‘I want to stop crying.’

The television presenter, 57, announced in November that she had been diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare type of benign brain tumour.

And, after a gruelling six-hour operation to remove the 14mm cyst from her brain, she revealed she was cancer-free.

Joining panellists Jane Moore, 63, and Nadia Sawalha, 60, in the ITV studio on Monday, newly-engaged Davina discussed her latest book on conception and birth – aptly titled Birthing.

But talk soon turned to Davina’s health, and she became tearful as she opened up about the experience, which she said has left her unable to stop crying.

Asked by Jane if she still has concerns for her health, Davina responded: ‘I don’t feel worried about that, but I do have this thing where I can’t stop crying.’

Visibly emotional, the mother-of-three fought back tears, and her voice became shaky as she continued: ‘So, I cry a lot when I talk about it.

‘I think it’s about trauma. It was traumatic – the experience – but I feel amazing now. I really do. I am so happy. I can’t believe I’m here with you.

‘Everything is a joy, getting up in the morning, having a coffee, I’m still in the joys of it. I want to put it behind me, I feel great. I want to stop crying.’

Mere hours after Davina’s pre-recorded interview, the news broke that she is engaged to her hairstylist boyfriend Michael Douglas – just weeks after she revealed she would never marry again.

Loose Women’s Ruth Langsford said on Monday: ‘Congratulations to Davina McCall following the news at the weekend that she has got engaged to her partner Michael Douglas.’

The TV presenter was friends for years with celebrity hairdresser Michael, 47, but they only began dating after she finalised her divorce with ex-husband Matthew Robertson in April 2018.

They went public with their relationship in 2018 and by January 2023, Michael had moved in with her – and now, the smitten couple are set to tie the knot.

To ensure her loved ones were the first to know, Davina managed to keep the engagement private and didn’t even tell ITV bosses.

The friend said Davina had come to the conclusion that life is too short, one year on from her terrifying brain tumour ordeal.

An ITV source said: ‘Davina kept it a secret for a long time, she didn’t even tell ITV.

‘She isn’t someone who likes to talk about her private life much so she wanted to make sure all of her loved ones knew the news before she told anyone else.’

It’s a stark difference from Davina’s stance a month ago, when she said that she would never marry again.

She told The Mirror: ‘We go on honeymoons all the time but without getting married. We’re in the honeymoon period even after all these years. I couldn’t be more happy.

She added: ‘And sometimes there’s an idea of, why change anything?’

Davina explained how her late father taught her that every successful relationship needs ‘friendship, attraction, trust and respect’
