It is understood King Charles and Prince Harry could meet next month (Image: Getty)
King Charles and Prince Harry could meet next month, weeks after an informal peace summit with Buckingham Palace officials, it is believed. The father and son have not seen each other in 20 months but it’s thought they could soon reunite, with the Duke of Sussex set to be in London on September 8 — the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing — to a charity event he supports.
A US source told the Mirror there is a “determination on both sides to make this happen”. They said: “For the first time in a long time, there’s a genuine sense that reconciliation is within reach. Prince Harry’s team and the Palace have opened a line of communication, and there is every hope that father and son will see one another when the Duke returns to London in September.”
Meghan Markle has been hit with another blow as critics continue to slam season two of her Netflix show “With Love, Meghan”. The new season, which aired on Tuesday, followed a similar format to season one, with the Duchess of Sussex cooking and hosting for celebrity friends.
While many have expressed positive views of the show, a number of critics have continued to slate it.

King Charles interrupts summer break to bestow top royal honour
King Charles has interrupted his summer break in Scotland to give a top honour to a popular non-working member of the Royal Family. As the royals enjoy quality time together at Balmoral Castle, it seems that the monarch, 76, couldn’t help but carry out some official royal duty.
As revealed by Buckingham Palace, this duty was to make Princess Anne’s husband a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order. Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, 70, has been bestowed this honour by the King at Balmoral Castle.

In a fresh blow for Prince Harry after months of difficulties involving his charity Sentebale, his other passion project has been hit by a big change. The Duke of Sussex’s friend and fellow veteran, JJ Chalmers, has stepped down as a trustee of the Invictus Games, the Daily Mail reports.
John James ‘JJ’ Chalmers was a Royal Marines reservist, as well as a gold medallist in the games, who memorably competed in Strictly Come Dancing in 2020. He is understood to have left his position as a trustee after only two years.

But this isn’t the only way the People’s Princess kept things down to Earth. According to her former private chef, she was a big fan of a breakfast that many of us eat to this very day.
Instead of ordering something opulent like caviar or truffle, Princess Diana was very keen on a healthy start to the day. In a YouTube video, chef Darren McGrady said: “Her go-to breakfast was something called overnight oats.”
We did mention that the royal was a trailblazer – and it seems that she was ahead of the curve when it came to her breakfast too!

Meghan Markle makes ‘extraordinary’ mistake about Royal Family for 1 reason
Meghan Markle has been slammed for making an “extraordinary” mistake about her royal title after demanding that guests on her Netflix series use her “real” surname of Sussex. The Duchess, whose second series of Netflix’s With Love, Meghan, debuted on the streaming platform this week, has been vocal about her surname being Sussex rather than Markle after marrying Prince Harry – going so far as to correct actress Mindy Kaling in an early episode of the show.
In a new interview with journalist Emily Chang, Meghan confirmed that her legal name is now Meghan, Duchess of Sussex – but a seasoned royal commentator said the statement laid bare an “extraordinary” error on her part and offered insight into her views on the royal family. “This is extraordinary and I want to know exactly who it is that is schooling her,” CNN royal commentator Victoria Arbiter said. “Because she insists on saying that her legal name is ‘Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’, but actually, to the royal boffins out there, they’ll know that that denotes a royal divorcee.”

Princess Diana documentary ‘would end William and Harry’s relationship for good’ – expert
Prince Harry could risk ending the relationship with his brother Prince William for good if he produces a documentary about their late mother, a commentator has warned. It was widely reported last week that the Duke of Sussex, who quit royal life in 2020, could be considering working with Netflix on a documentary about Diana, Princess of Wales, who died in 1997.
It is believed the documentary would be released in 2027 to mark 30 years since her death. Although unconfirmed at this moment in time, it is believed that the documentary has been mentioned in talks between Harry, 40, and Netflix as part of their deal.

Rare update on Princess Beatrice’s marriage shared by close friend
Princess Beatrice has been happily married for five years to her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, with the pair seeming to be as loved up as ever. While Beatrice, 37, may be the King’s niece, she is not a working royal, giving her more privacy than most of her relatives.
This means that she can enjoy plenty of private time with her husband Edoardo, 41, and their daughters Sienna and Athena, as well as Edoardo’s son Wolfie. While we often see snippets of the couple’s life either through interviews, social media or at royal events, it is very rare we get a glimpse of what their marriage is really like.

Prince William’s sweet promise to Princess Diana that left her in tears
Prince William may have only been a teenager when his parents King Charles, who was Prince of Wales at the time, and Princess Diana divorced, but many who knew him knew just how wise he was. As well as being Diana’s son, Prince William was also believed to be her confidante, and had seen her during some of her lowest moments.
One of these moments was after her divorce from Charles, which was finalised in 1996 – four years after they separated. This was believed to be a sad time for the princess, with the divorce resulting in her losing the title of Her Royal Highness, which she had been given to her on her 1981 wedding day.
While she was still considered to be a member of the Royal Family, and kept her title of Princess of Wales, it is believed losing her HRH title upset her greatly, however Prince William vowed to fix this.

Real reason Buckingham Palace has never been loved by royals
Buckingham Palace is one of the most famous buildings in the world, well-known for housing British monarchs for centuries. In the centre of London, the Palace is crowded with tourists outside the gates daily, come rain or shine.
While many monarchs have called the Palace home, whether out of choice or duty, this is set to soon change. While the late Queen did live at Buckingham Palace for the majority of the time during her long reign after being advised to by the late Winston Churchill, King Charles is yet to do this.

Meghan Markle’s awkward response as Netflix guest admits he hadn’t seen her show
Meghan Markle was humbled after a mixologist who starred in ‘With Love, Meghan’ season two, admitted he had never seen Meghan in the US TV drama, Suits. The TV drama was the hit show Meghan starred in for seven seasons before marrying Prince Harry.
In episode seven, which premiered on August 26, the Duchess of Sussex and her longtime friend Heather Dorak met up with a mixologist named Payman Bahmani-Bailey. While making drinks together, the Duchess asks him how he became a mixologist and in response, he told her he used to be a lawyer in New York. Meghan, who played a paralegal in the TV drama, then asks, “Did you watch Suits?” to which the mixologist retorts, “No, no, I don’t watch basic cable. I like shows with curse words and stuff.” Meghan laughs and responds: “Great, I love it.”

Prince Harry set to meet King Charles on UK return – but William snubs reunion
Prince Harry is set to reunite with his father, King Charles, for the first time in 20 months when he returns to Britain in a fortnight, but Prince William has rejected any attempts to reconcile with his brother.
The Duke of Sussex and the monarch are on the brink of mending their relationship following an informal peace summit with Buckingham Palace officials. Harry is due in London on September 8 – the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing – to attend the WellChild Awards, a charity event he has long championed.
The pair have not laid eyes on each other since January of the previous year, during which time His Majesty has been receiving treatment for cancer. A US source revealed to the Mirror: “It’s clear there is now a determination on both sides to make this happen. Nobody is pretending the wider family issues have been resolved, but this is about beginning with Charles and Harry.
“For the first time in a long time, there’s a genuine sense that reconciliation is within reach. Prince Harry’s team and the Palace have opened a line of communication, and there is every hope that father and son will see one another when the Duke returns to London in September.”
