Prince Harry’s uncle has shared a new social media message just days before his bombshell book release later this month. Earl Charles Spencer shared three new photographs of himself holding his new upcoming book ‘Swan Song: Diana, my sister’.
Writing on X, he said: “Always an amazing moment for an author to receive a printed copy of their new book for the first time – particularly on this occasion, with ‘Swan Song’ being my most personal work by some distance. At the end of the day, it’s a brother’s tribute to an extraordinary sister.”
The book is set to be released in the UK on September 22, 2026. It is believed to be a personal, heartfelt book about Princess Diana, who tragically died in a 1997 car crash.
Speaking ahead of the release of the book, Earl Spencer said just a few weeks ago: “With the 30th anniversary of Diana’s tragic death on the skyline, I’ve been inundated yet again with requests for interviews about my sister.
“This has convinced me to write down my own thoughts and memories, once and for all, rather than having the discomfort of again reading the opinions of others, many of which are based on untruths that have become accepted over time.”
Earl Spencer, already a Sunday Times best-selling author, added: “The aim of this book is to tell the truth about Diana from her brother’s perspective, just as I attempted to do when speaking at her funeral. As with my eulogy, I want to speak on Diana’s behalf and do so in an openly positive way.
“I hope this book will be of interest to the many who still cherish the memory of Diana when she was alive, and I would be delighted if those too young to remember her in her heyday feel – after reading this – that they ‘get’ who she really was: a one-off, dynamic character, full of love, charisma and self-doubt, who gave life a hell of a go, and left the world a far better place, despite exiting the stage while still so young.”

It is not known whether the book will contain anything critical of the Royal Family in it.
It is believed Prince Harry is likely to be supportive of his uncle’s book, having maintained a close bond with Charles Spencer.
This included a visit to Princess Diana’s resting place on the estate, which is on an island on a lake away from public view.
It is not known if Harry has seen his uncle since relocating back to the UK a few weeks ago.
