But Charles’ latest position appears designed to shut down the idea that proximity automatically means a restoration of royal status.
The couple can live in Britain.
They can raise their children there.
They can undertake charitable and commercial projects.
But according to the Palace position, they will do so as private citizens rather than working royals.
