Buckingham Palace statement in full as Princess Eugenie gives birth to baby girl

Buckingham Palace has issued a statement this evening confirming that Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have welcomed their third child – a baby girl. Princess Eugenie gave birth to a daughter on Monday at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal.
The newborn baby was born at 6.20pm on August 3, weighing 6 pounds and nine ounces. The Royal Family, including King Charles and Queen Camilla, are “delighted” with the news. The new arrival is the couple’s third child, with Eugenie and Jack already being the proud parents of August and Ernest.

A statement by Buckingham Palace on Monday read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6.20pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal.
“The baby was born weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces.
“Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.”
Princess Eugenie shared a photograph of her baby on Instagram on Tuesday, with the newborn seen in a pink outfit and a sweet hat.
The baby can be seen holding onto her father Jack’s finger. Eugenie wrote: “Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie.”
The birth took place in Portugal, where the family spend half of their time, with the other half spent in London.
This is because Jack works with property tycoon Mike Meldman on a luxury coastal development, the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club.
Eugenie and Jack are yet to confirm their daughter’s name, with this likely to be announced in the coming days.
