Vicky Pattison has firmly denied that she has dropped out of Strictly Come Dancing. The Geordie Shore star addressed rumours that she had quit the BBC dance competition after she failed to appear on the spin-off It Takes Two earlier this week. Partnered with Kai Widdrington, the pair are set to perform a Charleston to “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” from The Great Gatsby this Saturday (October 11) for Movie Week. It has now been revealed that she pulled out of the spin-off show at the last minute due to illness and has apologised to her fans on social media. The reality star has now confirmed that she has not dropped out of the show in general.
On Instagram, she posed for a selfie in the car with Kai and wrote: “There seems to have a bit of a miscommunication! @kaiwidd was poorly earlier on in the week and I wasn’t 110% so we had to pull out of our weekly appearance on It Takes Two… that’s it.”

She added: “I have not dropped out of Strictly… I’m having a lovely time and really grateful for this experience! Plus, Kai is feeling better now so we’re back in the rehearsal room AND back on It Takes Two tonight… just thought I’d clear that up.”
Earlier this week when she pulled out of It Takes Two last minute, Vicky said: “Man, or should I say ‘men’, down. Huge apologies to anyone expecting to see me and Kai on ‘It Takes Two’ tonight. Doing all we can to get back to our best and back to the training room asap.”

Vicky is up against Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Amber Davies, Alex Kingston, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Balvinder Sopal, George Clarke, La Voix, Chris Robshaw, Ellie Goldstein, Stefan Dennis, Ross King, Karen Carney, and Lewis Cope.
Amber was announced as a late addition to this year’s BBC show on Friday (26.09.25) after Dani Dyer, 29, was forced to withdraw due to injury.
Thomas Skinner was the first celebrity to be eliminated from the dance competition last weekend. The former Apprentice contestant did a Salsa routine to Dizzee Rascal’s “Bonkers” with Amy Dowden, but it wasn’t enough to be saved by the judges.
