BREAKINGKing Charles’ phone call with Prince Harry became ‘heated’ over one key issue
Prince Harry and King Charles had reportedly established weekly phone calls after the Duke returned to Britain, but that fragile progress is said to have come to an abrupt halt following a dispute over the Sussexes’ royal status.
The father and son were understood to be in direct contact after Harry moved back to the UK with Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
After years of distance while the Sussexes lived in California, the regular conversations appeared to offer a rare sign that relations between Harry and his father might finally be improving.
But according to a source, those calls have now stopped.
“Their phone calls had been on a weekly basis,” the insider said. “Harry and Charles were in direct contact when they first arrived in the UK, but not anymore.”
The reported breakdown followed Buckingham Palace’s decision to formally clarify Harry and Meghan’s position after their return to Britain.

Final Call Reportedly Became ‘Heated’
Charles reportedly authorised a document sent to government and military officials explaining that Harry and Meghan would remain outside the working Royal Family despite once again living in the UK.
The guidance also reiterated that the couple should not use their “His Royal Highness” and “Her Royal Highness” styles.
Harry and Meghan retained those styles when they stepped back from royal duties in 2020 but agreed not to use them publicly.
According to the report, the issue was not simply what the Palace said but how the announcement was handled.
Representatives for the Sussexes said they were “a little surprised not to have been told about this in advance”.
The timing and wording of the document reportedly became a major point of disagreement between Harry and his father, with their final conversation described as “somewhat heated”.
Harry and Meghan were also said to be frustrated by language characterising their position as similar to “private citizens with commercial and charitable interests”.
The couple’s reported reaction came as their return to the UK raised fresh questions about whether living in Britain again might alter their relationship with the monarchy.
The Palace’s guidance made clear that it would not.
Charles Reportedly Waiting for Tensions to Ease
Charles is now said to be holding back from further direct conversations with his younger son while emotions remain high.
One source claimed the King does not plan to resume contact until “cooler heads prevail”.
That represents a sharp change from the cautious optimism that had surrounded their reported weekly conversations.
Harry’s move back to Britain had immediately prompted speculation over whether he might rebuild his relationship with Charles after spending six years based in California with Meghan and their family.
Although the pair reportedly did not meet privately following Harry’s return, their regular calls suggested that communication had at least become more consistent behind closed doors.

The latest disagreement appears to have interrupted that progress.
At the centre of the dispute is the same question that has followed Harry and Meghan since they stepped away from royal duties in 2020: exactly what role they occupy in relation to the monarchy.
Their move back to Britain did not alter their official status, and Buckingham Palace’s intervention was intended to remove uncertainty surrounding that point.
But the way the clarification was delivered reportedly reopened old frustrations instead.
For Harry and Charles, that has apparently meant a promising line of communication has gone quiet almost as quickly as it emerged.
The weekly calls may have suggested father and son were finding a way forward, but the latest disagreement shows
