He replaced regular Chaser Darragh Ennis
Beat the Chasers newcomer Maverick was finally unmasked on the ITV show last night (October 19).
The ITV spin-off show – fronted by Bradley Walsh – has been airing its seventh series since August. On the programme, contestants go head-to-head against a panel of the Chasers in a bid to bag some serious cash.
However, earlier this month it was announced that a new Chaser would be making their debut on the programme. And, after ITV gave us a first look at the character, he played alongside the Chasers last night. At the end of the show, he finally revealed his identity.

Beat the Chasers’ new Chaser
The Beat the Chasers line-up currently includes the likes of Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha, Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan and Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis. There is also Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett, Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace and Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty.
But it was recently revealed that Darragh Ennis would be taking a step back and a brand-new Chaser would make their debut.
The new Chaser was introduced last night (October 19). For the majority of the 60-minute show, he was identified only as Maverick.
However, at the end of the show, his identity was finally revealed… With host Bradley Walsh kicking himself after not guessing that Maverick was actually one of his pals!

Maverick unmasked!
During the show, Maverick wore a red mask with a black question mark through the middle. His face could only be seen slightly through two eye holes. He wore a black suit complete with red question marks on the lapel. He also sported a black bowler hat and red gloves. His voice was disguised as he answered questions, too.
At the very end of the show, Bradley asked him to take off his mask… And it was revealed that Maverick was none other than his pal Joe Pasquale!

Viewers were as stunned as Bradders! One said: “That was a genius move disguising Joe Pasquale as a Chaser. Thought it was some shy eccentric brainbox who wanted to stay anonymous. I look forward to another Chaser being indisposed so they can disguise someone else we can spend all the show guessing who it is.”
A second commented: “A great end to the show. And I had a feeling Maverick was Joe Pasquale.” A third commented: “Joe Pasquale was definitely not on my bingo card!” “I wasn’t expecting it to be him,” another said. “Maverick is Joe Pasquale I didn’t expect it at all to be him but well done Joe – you have been great!” said another.
“That was a genuinely great reveal though. I can’t believe it was Joe Pasquale! He did so well to keep up with the other Chasers as he seemed like a professional quizzer,” said another.

The Chase’s new Christmas special
The brand-new Chaser is not the only big news that fans can look forward to. Last week, it was also announced that the Chase Christmas Special is set to air later this year.
The special will be recorded in November. It will see four celebrities take on the Chasers, who are usually in fancy dress, with the aim of winning thousands of pounds for their chosen charities.
The celebrities taking part have not been announced by ITV.
