Strictly star Ashleigh Hunter revealed some devastating news. The former BBC worker took to Instagram on Monday to share the tragic news that her dad, Ian Hunter, had d!ed after a battle with c@ncer. The 46-year-old dancer, who was a regular behind the scenes on the much-loved programme, admitted she “doesn’t know how I’ll do life without him” in a heartbreaking plea.
The choreographer penned a message on the photo-sharing site for her 9,414 followers. It read: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I share the passing of my beautiful Dad, Ian Hunter [heartbroken emoji]. The most incredible Dad and Pop, a devoted husband and a much-loved friend to so many.
After an incredibly brave battle with c@ncer, Dad passed away peacefully, surrounded by love. Dad, you were my biggest supporter and my greatest cheerleader throughout my entire life. I honestly don’t know how I’ll do life without you, but I am so grateful for every moment, every laugh and every beautiful memory we shared.”

She added, “I will love and miss you every single day,” before concluding, “Forever my Dad, forever in my heart.”
Ashleigh accompanied the post with a sweet photo alongside her beloved dad.
Her Strictly pals flocked to comment on the post as they offered their condolences.
Show host Johannes Radebe penned: “Ash. Darling, sending my love.”
Gorka Marquez, who recently left Strictly, wrote: “Sending you all the love ash!” Kai Widdrington commented: “Sending all my love to you and the family, Ash.” Oti Mabuse said: “Sending you love,” while Kevin Clifton added: “So sorry Ash.”

Ashleigh is a professional dancer and choreographer known for her work on Strictly Come Dancing and as a champion on Dancing with the Stars Australia.
She previously worked on the BBC show as a choreographer and choreographer assistant from 2018 to 2023.
