BREAKING: Meghan Markle’s Hollywood dream is crumbling – and it’s all down to one snub

The Duchess of Sussex has waved goodbye to deals with Netflix and Spotify in recent years.

After moving to the US in 2020, it seemed like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a world of infinite possibilities at their fingertips. But, after a fresh snub from Netflix, it looks like Meghan’s media connections are crumbling, and it seems that her relationship with Netflix is the catalyst.

Earlier this month, in a welcome surprise for the Duchess, her show, With Love, Meghan, received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lifestyle Series. “A huge congratulations to the amazing crew, producers, and team who worked on ‘With Love, Meghan’ on @Netflix,” she wrote on Instagram.

While the nomination still stands, Netflix, which has curated a special Emmy collection, appear to have left With Love, Meghan off the roster entirely. A move that feels reflective of the company’s fading relationship with the Duchess begs the question: has this partnership finally fizzled out?

Flashback to six years ago. Meghan and Harry were in high demand. They’d embarked on a sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, launched Archewell, and Meghan had even bagged her own podcast, Archetypes, as part of an eye-watering Spotify deal reportedly worth $20 million.

Cut to 2026, however, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have retained Archewell, but their Spotify deal is well and truly over. In 2023, Archetypes was cancelled after one season, and, according to a report published by The Wall Street Journal, it was Meghan and Harry’s “lack of productivity” that impacted Spotify’s decision to end the overall partnership.

More recently, it seemed as though Meghan had finally found solid ground with Netflix. Back in 2020, the Sussexes had inked another high-profile deal worth an estimated £75million, and they’ve continued to honour it with various docu-series, including Harry & Meghan (2022), Live to Lead (2022), Polo (2024), and With Love, Meghan (2025).

As of March, Netflix has ended its partnership with Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, and her series, With Love, Meghan has not been renewed for a third season. “As it was always intended, Meghan will continue growing the brand and take it into its next chapter independently,” Netflix said in a statement.

With Meghan appearing to grow further from both Spotify and Netflix in recent years, it seems as though the Sussexes’ prospects within TV and film are beginning to shrink, and if they can’t produce a major success soon, their ocean of opportunities might just become a puddle.
