King Charles reportedly had two strict requests before his top-secret Highgrove reunion with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, a source has claimed. The monarch and his wife Queen Camilla hosted Harry and Meghan, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, at Highgrove earlier this month.

The family reunion, which was kept under wraps until after, was believed to have lasted just over an hour. No photographs or details of conversations the family had were shared. However, it is believed that before the meeting, King Charles had two strict requests.

One of these was not to discuss the topics that had been making the press, including Prince Harry’s court defeat against the publishers of The Daily Mail.

The monarch’s second request was that Harry and Meghan bring their children Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, to the reunion, according to a source.

It is believed this was important to the King, who had not seen his grandchildren since they last visited the UK in 2022.

The source told US Weekly: “Certain topics were off limits. They all agreed beforehand that they would not discuss any topics making headlines in the press.”

The source continued: “The king and queen wanted personal time with their grandchildren, and they wanted it to be lighthearted and positive. The point of the meeting was to spend time with them, and that was the only thing on the agenda.”

The source said Their Majesties “would only agree to the meeting if the kids were coming”.

The fact that the reunion happened on July 10 was a surprise to some, especially as Meghan, Archie and Lilibet had not flown into Britain with Harry earlier that week as originally planned.

This is because the duke found out he could not get armed police protection, so he flew to his home country alone until he made security arrangements for his family to join him later in the week.

Days after Harry’s arrival, Meghan and the children then flew into Harry’s home country for private family time. They made no public appearances during their stay and were not spotted out and about.

It is not known when the family of four will next visit the UK together again.
