One show star has been dealt a huge blow just hours after making their Strictly Come Dancing debut. During the Strictly launch show on Saturday (19 September), the cast of 2026 were matched with their professionals through a speed-dancing challenge. Viewers got a chance to see 15 celebrities paired with a professional dancer.
The latest odds have already suggested one show star is set to lift the Glitterball Trophy. However, it’s bad news for another amateur dancer, who has been tipped to be the first contestant to leave the competition in a devastating blow.
Dani Dyer has been tipped to win the show with odds at 7/2 following Saturday evening’s launch night. Delta Goodrem comes in second place at 5/1 while Lacey Turner is in third at 6/1, according to Coral bookmakers. But in a huge blow to Shaun Wright-Phillips his chances of lifting the Glitterball trophy is at 33/1 while Stacey Storey’s are slightly better at 28/1.

“Dani Dyer has wasted no time making an impression, with her launch night appearance enough to see punters and the market take note. We’ve cut her from 4-1 to 7-2 to lift the Glitterball, putting her firmly among the leading contenders. Delta Goodrem has also been trimmed, while Lacey Turner remains close behind,” said Coral’s John Hill.
New hosts Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe and Josh Widdicombe revealed the couples in front of the studio audience via three specially-choreographed dance routines.
Love Island winner Dani Dyer was partnered with Nikita Kuzmin, actress Bethany Antonia with Nancy Xu, celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton and Amy Dowden, Love Island winner Cach Mercer and newcomer Maddie Ingoldsby.

Singer Delta Goodrem was paired with Kai Widdrington, dog trainer Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley, YouTuber John Nellis and Katya Jones, actress Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu, EastEnders star Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola.
Other pairings include former footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips and Alexis Warr, British skeleton racer Tabby Stoecker and Mark Karmalita, Big Brother host Will Best and Dianne Buswell, actor Lawrence Robb and Jowita Przystał, actress Melanie Walters and Aljaž Škorjane and British athlete Dame Sarah Storey and Julian Caillon.
