Prince William Reportedly ‘Blindsided’ by Harry and Meghan’s UK Return as Piers Morgan Claims Royal Anger
Prince William and Princess Catherine were reportedly caught off guard by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to return to Britain, with Piers Morgan claiming the move has sparked “borderline anger” inside the Royal Family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved back to England last month after several years based in California and have reportedly enrolled Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet at a British prep school.
Their return has immediately reignited scrutiny over their relationship with senior royals, particularly William and Catherine.
Speaking on The Royals Uncensored, Morgan claimed the Prince and Princess of Wales had not been given advance warning about the move.
“From what I’m told internally amongst the royals, enormous consternation and borderline anger about what has happened here,” he said.
“They were blindsided, they didn’t know it was happening, and now they’ve got to deal with the fallout.”
Morgan also predicted that Harry and Meghan’s return would continue to create headlines.
“We know what will happen with the Sussexes, they won’t be able to stop themselves,” he said.
Katie Nicholl Claims William Was ‘Apoplectic’
Royal commentator Katie Nicholl agreed that the move had come as a surprise to the family and questioned suggestions that King Charles had been properly informed in advance.
“I don’t buy the Sussexes’ spin that they told Charles,” she said. “I was also told he was blindsided.”
Nicholl went further when discussing William’s alleged reaction.
“William and Catherine were absolutely taken aback by this,” she claimed. “I’m told William is apoplectic, and as you say he won’t even have Harry’s name mentioned in his presence.”
There has been no public confirmation from William or Catherine supporting those claims, but the comments reflect the intense speculation surrounding the brothers since Harry and Meghan’s return.
Nicholl then questioned whether Charles had been too willing to leave the possibility of reconciliation open.
She suggested the Sussexes’ current position increasingly resembles the “half-in, half-out” arrangement they had originally wanted when stepping away from senior royal duties six years ago.

Morgan responded by recalling Queen Elizabeth II’s position on Harry and Meghan’s proposed royal arrangement.
He said the late Queen had been clear that working royals could not operate selectively.
“If you’re a working member of the Royal Family, you’ve got to be all in,” Morgan said while describing her position.
“You can’t be half-in, half-out. You can’t just cherry pick the good stuff and not do the drudgery of royal life.”
He noted that royal responsibilities often involve extensive travel around the country and appearances that may not always be glamorous.
“Some people will see it as drudgery, others will see it as an honour,” he added.
Nicholl then reflected on Meghan’s brief period as a working royal.
“Meghan did that for 18 months,” she said.
Recalling one engagement in Nottingham, Nicholl added: “I was up there in Nottingham with her when it was pouring with rain, she hated it. She wasn’t cut out for it.”
Sussex Return Reopens Old Royal Tensions
Harry and Meghan’s move back to Britain has revived many of the same questions that surrounded their departure from royal duties.
Their presence in the UK places them physically closer to the Royal Family while their relationship with William remains under intense scrutiny.
