Harry ‘incredulous’ over Meghan’s r0yal protection, putting Kate in ‘impossible situation’
Princess Kate Faces ‘Impossible Situation’ as Harry and Meghan Return to Britain Amid Royal Rift
Princess Kate has reportedly been placed in an “impossible situation” following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to Britain with their two children.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are understood to have secured a private, non-royal residence outside London after deciding to leave their Montecito home for an extended stay in the UK.
Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have reportedly been enrolled at British schools and are expected to begin classes within weeks.
However, Harry and Meghan’s arrival has once again placed attention on their fractured relationship with Prince William and Kate, who are said to be determined to avoid being pulled back into the family drama.

Sussexes return without royal protection
Harry and Meghan reportedly arrived by private aircraft on Thursday, accompanied by their own security team.
They were not provided with taxpayer-funded police protection or the official motorcade arrangements they received while serving as working members of the Royal Family.
The Sussexes are believed to have travelled aboard a Bombardier Global Express XRS operated by private aircraft company Planet Nine. Chartering an aircraft of that type is estimated to cost approximately $12,000 per hour.
Despite returning to Britain, the couple will not resume official royal duties. Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior working royals in 2020 before moving to North America.
Their relationship with the monarchy subsequently deteriorated following their interview with Oprah Winfrey, their Netflix documentary and the publication of Harry’s memoir, Spare.
Harry also made several allegations about his time within the institution, including an account of an alleged confrontation with William over Meghan.
William and Charles reportedly ‘in lockstep’
King Charles and Prince William are said to have been informed of Harry and Meghan’s return plans at the same time.
The King and his heir are reportedly in “complete lockstep” over the Sussexes’ future, particularly regarding any suggestion of a “half in, half out” arrangement that would allow them to combine private commercial work with royal responsibilities.

Friends of William and Kate have claimed the couple intends to keep its distance from further controversy.
Although the Prince and Princess of Wales reportedly feel unable to forgive Harry and Meghan for allegations they consider deeply hurtful, they are said to be focused on the future rather than reopening old disputes.
The two couples were once celebrated as the Royal Family’s “Fab Four”, but that public image quickly disappeared as tensions grew behind palace walls.
William and Harry are reportedly no longer on speaking terms. While Harry has met Charles during previous visits to Britain, there is not believed to have been any meaningful contact with his older brother.
Kate no longer expected to act as peacemaker
Kate was previously regarded as a calming influence between William and Harry, but reports suggest she is no longer willing to take responsibility for repairing their relationship.
When the Sussexes announced their decision to leave royal duties and move abroad, Kate was reportedly less enthusiastic than William about trying to persuade them to stay. She is said to have believed their departure had become “inevitable”.
Details from the biography William and Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story have also revived claims of an earlier dispute involving Meghan’s protection before her 2018 wedding.
Author Russell Myers wrote that Harry was “incredulous” after his request for royal protection for Meghan was allegedly rejected.
Harry reportedly believed it was “one rule for him and another for me” because Kate had received informal palace guidance while dating William and was given round-the-clock security following their engagement.

Harry is said to have demanded action after Meghan became the target of hostility on social media, but was told protection would not be provided until they were married. Charles reportedly explained that he could not intervene because the decision rested with the government.
With the Sussexes now living much closer to the Wales family, speculation about reconciliation will inevitably continue. Yet their return does not mean forgiveness has been offered, leaving Kate caught between hopes for family peace and her determination to protect her own household.
