BBC Comedy Star Luisa Omielan Rushed Back to A&E After Suffering Another Concussion
BBC comedian Luisa Omielan has revealed she was taken back to A&E after hitting her head again and suffering another concussion, just weeks after a previous accident left her dealing with a series of serious health problems.
The comedy star shared the update with fans on September 3, explaining that she had managed to injure herself again while still recovering from the effects of an earlier head trauma.
Writing on Instagram, Omielan said: “Hey gang. I managed to hit my head again today and give myself another concussion.”
Despite the worrying update, she used humor to describe the situation and even joked about what she might need for her upcoming birthday.
“Shout out to the nail tech who only charged me 50% for a last min booking when I was in A&E rather than the full 100,” she wrote.
She added: “Also it’s my birthday on Monday so if anyone was thinking what to get, a helmet would be wonderful.”
Luisa Had Already Been Recovering From a Serious Accident
The latest hospital visit comes after Omielan experienced a far more serious accident in July.
She previously went to A&E three separate times after accidentally riding a Lime bike into a brick wall and breaking her nose.
Following the crash, she was diagnosed with a minor brain injury, Post Concussion Syndrome and post traumatic stress disorder.
The comedian later admitted that the experience had “knocked her sideways” and forced her to step away from work while she recovered.
“These past few weeks have been incredibly challenging,” she said at the time.
“But I’m grateful that there’s a clear path forward now. I just need to focus on recovery.”

The health setback also meant Omielan had to cancel several live performances.
She explained that she was not in a position to create much content or continue working normally while she focused on getting better.
Health Problems Forced Her to Step Back From Work
Omielan was open with fans about how much the recovery period had affected both her health and her career.
“I’m not creating much content right now or able to work,” she wrote.
She also explained that her Patreon had become particularly important during the period because she was unable to plan or perform shows.
“Many of you have asked how you can support me while I recover,” she said.
“If you’d like to, my Patreon has been a life line, it is my only income until I’m well enough to plan and deliver shows.”

The comedian also thanked her supporters for standing by her while she dealt with the aftermath of the accident.
“I am so grateful to my gang for helping me through this time,” she said.
She apologized to audiences and venues affected by her cancellations and made clear that she was eager to return as soon as her health allowed.
“Thank you all for the love and kindness, sorry to the audiences and venues I have had to cancel, I am gutted and want to come back ASAP.”
Another Setback During Recovery
The latest concussion represents another difficult setback for Omielan after a challenging few months.
While her newest update was delivered with the same humor familiar to fans of her comedy, it came after a recovery period that had already required repeated hospital visits and time away from work.
