HEARTBREKING: Eamonn Holmes Breaks Silence With Major Update After Months Away From TV

TV bosses have reportedly grown concerned for Eamonn Holmes as the GB News presenter has been on hiatus from his daily breakfast programme for the past four months. The 66-year-old, who joined the network in 2022, was hospitalised in April after suffering a stroke, which compounds his ongoing mobility issues due to spinal surgery and a double hip replacement. At the time, GB News confirmed that Eamonn had been “taken ill last week” and after revealing “he had suffered a stroke”, they added that the broadcaster was “responding well to treatment.”
The father-of-four has also been uncharacteristically quiet on social media, with his last upload being in April, featuring an adorable photo of his granddaughters holding up their “get well soon” drawings. In the caption, Eamonn assured fans: “I will do my best to get well SOOM (sic).” Now, his future on the news channel remains uncertain as reports suggest that bosses “barely hear from him.”

With his return looking “unlikely,” a source claimed that GB News execs have had “limited contact” with the presenter since he went off air, with his eldest son, Declan, in charge of his affairs for the meantime.
“Everyone has started to accept Eamonn won’t be coming back to do the same job as he did before. They have barely heard from him in months, and he isn’t on social media anymore.
Speaking to the MailOnline, the insider added: “Declan has been really conscious not to cause his dad any more stress.”

While Ellie has been temporarily co-hosting with the likes of Stephen Dixon and Alex Armstrong, she has reportedly been instructed to “keep the show on the road,” even though many feel the channel is now “in limbo” in Eamonn’s absence.

This heartbreaking stroke follows a series of severe health and physical setbacks that Eamonn previously described as “horrendous.”
The former ITV star suffers from chronic pain after a back injury that stems from 2021, when he suffered three slipped discs and a dislocated pelvis, which severely impacted his sciatic nerve and leg mobility.
Eamonn then underwent a double hip replacement in 2016 and later had extensive spinal surgery to correct his back issues, but instead of restoring his health, it went wrong as the TV host admitted: “Basically, I can’t walk.”
Then, while recovering at home, the 66-year-old suffered an accident and fell down the stairs, resulting in a broken shoulder. Eamonn was forced to return to the hospital to undergo a second major operation just weeks after his back surgery
Due to these accumulated injuries, the GB News star has relied heavily on daily carers, a walker, and a mobility scooter or wheelchair, which he’s regularly spotted using at public events and award ceremonies.
