WARNING: Strictly Come Dancing expert ISSUES BLUNT STATEMENT to This Morning Star Emma Willis ahead of new series
A Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer cheekily cautioned Emma Willis against joining the BBC competition after witnessing her distinctive dance technique fall flat.
During Monday’s edition of This Morning, Emma Willis and Joel Dommett took the helm whilst Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard enjoyed their summer holidays.
The presenting pair covered the day’s headlines and welcomed various guests, including former Strictly professionals James Jordan, Brendan Cole, Pasha Kovalev, and Ian Waite.
The expert dancers graced the ITV daytime programme to publicise their upcoming live tour, The Return of the Legends, marking a departure from the BBC series.
Moments before the interview commenced, Emma eagerly expressed her enthusiasm for Strictly and wasted little time showcasing her signature dance routine, reports Edinburgh Live.
The television host disclosed: “I’m a bit of a sofa dancer.” Everyone appeared puzzled as she enquired, “Have you ever heard of one of them?”
She clarified, “I love Strictly, and I’m a massive fan.” While demonstrating her technique, she swayed from side to side on the settee and added, “I sit there and watch it and do this on the sofa while watching them dance, and my toes are pointing.”
She continued: ” And before I know it, everyone is looking at me, thinking ‘what are you doing?'”. Before she could complete her explanation, James, who featured as a professional on Strictly from 2006 to 2013, interjected with a quip: “If you do it like that, don’t ever do Strictly.”
Laughter erupted when Brendon quipped, “I had a couple of partners like that.”
As anticipation builds for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, fans are eagerly awaiting the reveal of which celebrities will grace the dance floor.
The BBC is maintaining secrecy about the line-up, stating: “More details regarding the upcoming series, including the celebrity contestants taking part, will be announced in due course.” It promises “another spectacular series” set to commence in the coming weeks.
Despite the lack of official announcements, that hasn’t deterred viewers from speculating. Based on the rumoured line-up, it seems this season could be one of the most thrilling yet.
Among the speculated names expected to dazzle on the dance floor are Love Island’s Dani Dyer and Olympic icon Sir Mo Farah, both of whom have previously triumphed in their respective arenas.
