SH0CK: Meghan Markle’s b0mbshell Oprah Winfrey interview hit with fresh criticism

Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 has been hit with fresh criticism over one major thing. The 44-year-old was interviewed alongside Harry one year after they stepped down as working royals – with the interview watched, at the time, by millions of viewers.
Meghan – who was heavily pregnant with Princess Lilibet at the time – told Oprah that she was “silenced” during her short time in the Royal Family, with the 72-year-old having spoke of the bombshell interview during a recent chat with Vanity Fair.
She said: “I wanted to be clear, because, was she silenced? Were people telling her not to talk? Were people? That’s why I said that?”
Oprah then revealed that she asked Meghan that particular question to gain “clarification” about Meghan’s position and experience in the Firm.
This comment has since been criticised, with one royal expert wondering why the purported racism comment was not questioned instead.
In a moment that shocked Oprah, Meghan revealed – but did not name – that two members of the family allegedly made comments about her then-unborn son’s skin colour before his birth in 2019.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Royals Uncensored, Jo Elvin said: “Oh come on, the irony of the clarification. That is not what I want a clarification on,” to which journalist Sarah Hewson said: “The royal racist”.

Ms Hewson added: “[And] absolutely no follow-up questions, you know, you are a journalist, sitting there doing one of the most high-profile interviews that will ever exist [and] you don’t ask the absolutely most important question – and you don’t challenge.”
Speaking about the comment made by Meghan, royal historian A.N. Wilson added that it was “utterly ridiculous” – adding that if the alleged comment was actually made by any of the royals.
Meghan announced that they were to step down from royal life in early 2020, before shortly moving to the US with their son – later welcoming their daughter.
