Gogglebox Favourites Roisin And Joe’s New Lives Revealed After Split And ‘Brutal’ Exit
Former Gogglebox stars Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle have gone their separate ways just months after moving in together, bringing another major change for the Scottish duo following their abrupt exit from the Channel 4 show.
The pair made history when they joined Gogglebox in 2022 as the programme’s first Scottish couple and quickly became popular with viewers.
But their television journey ended last year when they revealed Channel 4 had decided not to invite them back after three and a half years on the sofa.
Now, with the show returning for its 28th series, Roisin and Joe are noticeably absent — and their lives have changed significantly since their final appearance.
The latest series has introduced two new households, including Geordie brothers Steve and Mark and London mother-and-son duo Sandy and Max.
Familiar faces including the Siddiqui family have also returned, while Scotland continues to be represented by Edinburgh sisters Rosie and Susie and Glasgow friends Jake and Louis.
For Roisin and Joe, however, Gogglebox is now firmly in the past.
Relationship Ended Months After Moving In Together
Earlier this year, it emerged that the former couple had split after five years together.
Roisin first appeared to hint that something had changed in April when she shared a series of photos suggesting she was newly single.
One showed her holding an envelope reading “an antidote for a broken heart”, while another referenced Bridget Jones.
She captioned the post: “Well table for 1 it is then girls!”
The messages prompted fans to send their support, although Roisin did not immediately confirm exactly what had happened.
She later addressed the breakup much more directly in a TikTok video while going through belongings returned from her former boyfriend’s family home.
Roisin said she had stepped away from social media unexpectedly after being dumped at the beginning of the year.
She admitted the breakup had affected her badly at first, but said she eventually reached a point where she felt able to talk about it.
The 27-year-old explained that after such a long relationship, she had accumulated a huge amount of belongings, many of which had remained at Joe’s parents’ house.
Roisin Starts Over While Joe Keeps Low Profile
Since the split, Roisin appears to have moved into her own home and has been sharing updates about decorating and creating a new space for herself.
She has jokingly described it as her “solo Miss Havisham pad”.
Her social media posts also show her spending time with friends and embracing her new single life over the summer.
Joe, meanwhile, has remained considerably more private and does not appear to maintain an active public social media presence.
Their breakup came after another major disappointment for the pair when they were dropped from Gogglebox.
Announcing their departure last year, Roisin explained that Channel 4 had decided not to ask them back for the next series.
“After three and a half years of sitting on the sofa Channel 4 have decided it’s time for Joe and I to stretch our legs,” the pair said at the time.
They thanked production company Studio Lambert for giving them the opportunity and said they would miss spending Friday nights watching television with viewers.
The pair also reflected proudly on representing Scotland during their time on the programme.
They joked that one of their achievements had been proving Scottish cast members did not need subtitles.
For Roisin, the months since leaving Gogglebox have therefore brought two major endings at once.
First came the loss of the television role that introduced her and Joe to audiences across Britain, followed months later by the end of their five-year relationship.
She now appears to be focusing on rebuilding her life independently, settling into a new home and spending more time with friends.
Joe has chosen a quieter path away from the spotlight.
Their time as one of Gogglebox’s most recognisable Scottish couples may be over, but for Roisin in particular, the past year has marked the beginning of a very different chapter.
