Jess Glynne was nowhere to be seen as Alex Scott became the first person to leave I’m A Celeb. The singer had been with Alex as she departed the UK earlier this month from Heathrow before heading off to Brisbane.
Each day, a loved one is on hand to meet the celebrity on the bridge as they leave the jungle after being voted out by the public. Many had believed that singer Jess would be on hand to meet Alex on Friday, as she became the first person to be evicted.
However, it was Alex’s best friend, Regan Coleman, who was waiting for her on the other side. Host Dec said: “Before we let you go over the bridge to Regan, your best friend…” As Alex crossed the bridge, the pals embraced one another with a huge hug.

Alex told hosts Ant and Dec that Jess had told Alex to be herself when she headed into the camp. Jess, however, remained in London and appeared on ITV’s This Morning, where she offered an insight into her relationship with Alex. During her stint in the jungle, Alex told Ruby Wax: “I will get married to her, I’m just waiting for her to ask. I know my forever is with her.”
“She’s been talking about getting married. Have you got the ring yet, babe?” This Morning host Alison asked Jess. The Hold My Hand songstress said: “Yeah! No! The pressure! Why do I have to ask her? It’s a weird one, innit, I mean, you never know who will ask who but…”

Elsewhere during the chat, Jess revealed Alex’s sweet sign and signal to her while in the jungle. Host Alison said: “Have you noticed she keeps twiddling her necklace? Is that like a sign to anyone? Come on Jess, is that for you?” to which the singer admitted: “Yeah!” before adding: “No, I don’t know!”

With Alison pointing out: “I think it’s a sign to you to say ‘I love you, I miss you'” with Jess responding: “I think it is a little bit, it’s cute!” It comes as after the scene in question aired on I’m A Celebrity, Jess told Hits Radio presenter Tom Green that the “pressure is on”, joking: “I went to the shop straight after…”
During her exit interview with hosts Ant and Dec, Alex opened up about her experience “It doesn’t feel real, you just live in that moment with the campmates,” she said. Reflecting on her exit, she said: “It’s been such an incredible experience. Mentally, I did struggle missing home, but Im so glad I got to do this series with such a great bunch of campmates.” She added: “It’s tough in there – constantly going to get water and firewood.”
She explained she had never expected to have such a great time in the jungle. But there was one situation Alex never brought up with her campmates – an unidentified male leaving the toilet seat up in the dunny.

Speaking about growing close to Shona McGarty, Alex said that they were “quiet personalities” who gravitated towards each other. “Shona, I think Ginge and Aitch are great, amazing, to see them in the final, but to see Shona being made Queen of the Jungle would change her and give her the confidence to be brilliant at life”, she gushed.
Millions are expected to have voted – mainly led by fans of popular duo Angry Ginge and Aitch. An insider told the Mirror: “It’s been unprecedented… And one of the reasons why people have had issues with the app.” It comes as the weather in camp has hit 30 degrees over the last few days, which has come as a relief after they were battered by storms earlier this week.
