BREAKING NEWS: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle savaged over ‘hypocrisy’ after ‘extraordinary’ move

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were criticised by a royal commentator over their “hypocritical” move after their recent trip to Britain. The Duke of Sussex spent five days in his home country earlier this month to carry out engagements linked to his patronages.
His wife and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, also joined him on the trip; however, they did not make any public appearances. It is unknown how many days the Sussex family stayed in Britain; however, it is understood that they visited Highgrove House in Gloucester, where they met the King and Queen, Althorp and the Scottish Highlands. The Sussexes’ break at Althorp allowed them to pay their respects to Princess Diana’s resting place.
Meghan shared a series of pictures from her summer holidays in Europe, including a stop in Portugal.
In one of the pictures, Lilibet can be seen walking through formal gardens behind her brother and father in the distance.
It is thought that the picture was taken at Althorp during the family’s visit.
But the move sparked backlash by fans and critics, including the Daily Mail’s royal editor, Rebecca English, who dubbed it “hypocritical”.
Ms English said on the Palace Confidential podcast: “We have pictures of Meghan in a swimsuit on a beach with Harry and the children in the water, we have pictures of local restaurants they have eaten at, local shops they’ve used [in Portugal].
“I find that quite extraordinary given the complaints they have made about their privacy and security issues.”
She added: “What was particularly extraordinary about this was the photograph of Harry and Archie with flowers in their hands, clearly walking to the burial place of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.
“Look, it’s up to people individually what they choose to share online. But what I find extraordinary about this is that Harry has long complained about the exploitation of his mother’s memory.”
Ms English said sharing such personal moments online is “quite hypocritical” as it could lead people to accuse them of being “exploitative”.
Despite the remarks and overall backlash, there was one person who appeared to approve of Meghan’s move recently.
The Sussexes are thought to have spent time with the late Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer.
Earl Spencer’s wife, Cat, recently shared a new picture from Althorp and captioned it:“Today, @charles.earl.spencer took me to see the grave of his brother, John Spencer, who died just after birth on January 12th 1960.
“He was buried in a quiet corner of the church of St Mary Magdalen, Sandringham, next to their grandfather. A few years ago, Charles had John’s headstone restored.”
According to the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden, there could have been “no clearer way for Earl Spencer to spell out that he approved of Meghan’s social media posts from Althorp”.
