Good Morning Britain viewers took to social media with fury after the ITV programme addressed Earl Charles Spencer’s bombshell remarks about King Charles. In addition to claiming the monarch acted like a “petulant child,” the ninth Earl alleged that the then Prince of Wales said “we’ll forget her soon enough” during the preparation of Princess Diana’s 1997 funeral. During GMB, it was revealed that Diana’s younger brother also weighed in on Prince Harry’s ongoing security row and stated that it “needs to be examined”.
Journalist Ashna Hurynag shared that Earl Spencer claimed that “his nephew’s experience echoes that of his sister, Princess Diana.” The programme aired a clip from the 62-year-old’s damning BBC interview in which he stated: “I personally worry about the fifth in line to the throne who served in the military not having any police protection, it does worry me. As an uncle who has seen with his sister die in very, very preventable circumstances, that I would veer towards protection.” The report sparked backlash with viewers as one fumed: “Should we give him airtime, turn off my TV every time he comes, News STOP.” Another hit back: “Of course, he claims to know things. Just another grifter hoping someone will offer more money for his grubby little stories.”

Taking to social media, another blasted: “This again? Nobody cares….. he’s selling a book and will say whatever boosts sales, and you are all buying into it. Pathetic.”
“Why, it has absolutely nothing to do with Earl Spencer? I suppose if he wants Harry to have security, Earl Spencer can get them to work for him, and he can pay for it. Althorp House can become even more of a theme park,” claimed a fourth.
