Married At First Sight UK star Holly Ditchfield has shared an emotional update after the loss of her twin sons, Georgie and Marley, who passed away just days after being born four months premature.
Holly and her partner, Aaron Summers, welcomed their boys last week before enduring what she described as “the hardest, most heartbreaking, yet most magical 9 days” of their lives.
The reality star, who appeared on the 2024 series of MAFS UK, announced on Saturday, September 5, that both babies had passed away.
Georgie died peacefully at 1pm on September 3, with Marley following at 5am the next morning.
Holly said both boys were being held by her and Aaron in their final moments.
“There is no greater privilege, and no greater pain, than holding your children as they leave this world,” she wrote.
“They gave us the most precious week of our lives. A week I would live over and over again, just to have those moments with them.”
‘They Were Loved Beyond Measure’
Holly shared two black-and-white photographs, one of each of her sons, as she paid tribute to the brief but deeply meaningful time the family had together.
“My boys are together again now, just as they should be, and I pray with all my heart that they are finally at peace,” she wrote.
She spoke candidly about the devastation of losing both children and the physical and emotional impact the experience has had on her.
“My body feels different,” Holly said. “It feels like a part of me is no longer here, because a part of me truly isn’t.”
She added that she had dreamed of watching Georgie and Marley grow up, hearing their voices and seeing them take their first steps.
“But for 9 precious days, they were here,” she wrote.
“They were ours. They were loved beyond measure. And they will forever be our beautiful boys.”
Holly also asked for privacy as she and Aaron attempt to process their grief.
“We are trying to process a pain no parent should ever have to know,” she said.
Holly Thanks Supporters for Their Messages
On Sunday, September 6, Holly returned to Instagram Stories with another update, thanking people who had contacted the family.
She explained that although she had read many of the messages, she was struggling to respond.
“I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has messaged us, checked in on us and sent so much love to our boys,” she wrote.
“Please don’t think for a moment that your messages have been ignored – I have read so many of them, but I honestly just don’t know what to say.”
Holly said she was still struggling to accept what had happened.
“Some moments I feel like I’m going to wake up from the worst nightmare, and then I remember my boys aren’t coming home,” she said.
“There are no words for the pain we are feeling right now.”
She apologised to anyone she had not been able to reply to, explaining that she simply did not have the emotional strength at the moment.
Despite that, she said every message of support had meant a great deal to both her and Aaron.
“Every message, every kind word and every bit of love means more to Aaron and me than you will ever know,” Holly wrote.
“Thank you for loving our beautiful Georgie and Marley with us.”
‘Taking Each Minute as It Comes’
Holly ended her update by explaining that the couple are trying to cope one moment at a time.
“We are just trying to take each minute, each hour and each day as it comes,” she said.
“Thank you for understanding.”
In her original tribute, Holly also shared a final message directly to her sons.
“Georgie and Marley, thank you for giving us the most precious 9 days of our lives,” she wrote.
“You will forever be our sons, our babies, and the biggest part of our hearts.”
She concluded: “Until we meet again, my beautiful boys. Mummy and Daddy love you forever.”
