BREAKING NEWS: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to face ultimate blow when ‘furious’ Prince William is King

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should not expect an olive branch from Prince William when he ascends to the throne in the future, a royal commentator has claimed. The Duke of Sussex, who is celebrating his 42nd birthday today, has been estranged from his brother, the Prince of Wales, after he unleashed a series of accusations against him, his wife, Princess Catherine, and the King and Queen Camilla in the years since the Megxit crisis of 2020.

Now, as Harry celebrates his first birthday in the UK in six years, following his relocation last month, a royal expert has weighed in on his royal standing in the future. Veteran royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Express: “Harry’s royal standing may very well be affected by his and Meghan’s decision to come back to Britain, blindsiding the King and the Royal Family. He and Meghan have the world’s attention. However, so long as the rift with William persists, there remains the possibility that when he becomes King, he will reduce the size of the Royal Family.”

Mr Fitzwilliams added: “They and their children and Beatrice and Eugenie could lose their titles.

“This would reduce their appeal, though not, at least for a considerable time, their public profile.”

The expert noted the Sussexes’ low popularity ratings, saying how the press still remains hostile towards them despite the “endless briefings by their supporters”.

He explained: “One has to remember that they have got where they are without answering any questions about the lies they told about the Royal Family.

“This is obviously to obtain the worldwide profile they are currently ruthlessly and successfully exploiting.

“When William ascends the throne, they might not have this opportunity and we still don’t definitively know why they are in Britain.”

Former royal butler, Grant Harrold, previously told The Independent: “William will be furious. Harry has said some extraordinary things about the family. William is somebody that when you break trust and you go beyond a certain point, there’s no going back.”
