Jeremy Clarkson Issues Urgent Appeal After 11 Sheep Vanish From Diddly Squat Farm
Jeremy Clarkson has issued an urgent appeal after 11 sheep disappeared from his Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire, with police now investigating what is believed to be a carefully planned theft.
The Clarkson’s Farm star, 66, said the animals were taken from the 1,000-acre property and urged anyone with information to come forward.
Clarkson explained that the missing Easycare sheep should be relatively easy to identify because of their distinctive appearance.
“Come to the farm and let me know,” he said. “I know it sounds ridiculous but Easycares are quite distinctive sheep. They’ve got a very pointy face.”
The disappearance has left both Clarkson and farmhand Kaleb Cooper frustrated, particularly because the animals may already have been moved far from the area.
Kaleb said each sheep carried the farm’s own identifying tag, although he acknowledged that tags can be removed or replaced.
“They have got our own tag. It’s fairly easy to cut that out and put another in,” he told The Sun.
“But if I went to your flock I could tell which is mine and which is yours. Every neighbour knows what their sheep look like.”
Kaleb Fears the Worst
Kaleb said he is concerned the animals may already have been slaughtered, while also warning that livestock theft appears to be becoming more common.
“The police have got to be on this, because it is happening more often,” he said.
A source from another local farm suggested the theft may have involved advance planning.
“A raid like this needs some planning and it could well be that whoever did this knows who owned the sheep,” the source claimed.
Thames Valley Police has confirmed that officers are investigating.
According to police, the theft is believed to have happened at some point during the previous ten days and was not witnessed.
The incident was reported to the force on Wednesday.
No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
Clarkson Says the Theft Has Left Him Furious
Clarkson and Kaleb discovered that something was wrong when they counted the flock at the Chadlington farm and realized 11 ewes were missing.
Clarkson made his feelings clear when speaking to The Mirror.
“It pes me off,” he said. “Honestly, it just pes me off.”
Kaleb echoed that frustration while speaking at the first Hawkstone Festival on Friday.
“Well I can believe it, because it happened, you know,” he said when discussing the theft.
He then highlighted the difficulty farmers face trying to protect large areas of land at all times.
“This is the problem isn’t it? How do you know that someone’s not gonna go and rob that field at the top there when you’re out on a night out?”
“You just don’t know. Nobody else is looking out for you.”
The comments underline how difficult security can be on a working farm, where livestock may be spread across large fields away from buildings and cameras.
Police Appeal for Information
Thames Valley Police has asked members of the public to contact the force if they know anything about the missing animals.
“The theft has occurred at some point over the last ten days and was unwitnessed,” police said.
“The theft was reported to the force on Wednesday. No arrests have been made.”

The incident comes while Clarkson, Kaleb and the rest of the Diddly Squat team are filming their Amazon Prime series.
The farm has become one of the most recognizable in Britain since Clarkson’s Farm began documenting the realities of agricultural life, from unpredictable weather and animal problems to financial pressures and planning disputes.
The latest incident has now added another challenge.
For Clarkson and Kaleb, however, the immediate priority is simple: finding out what happened to the 11 missing sheep and whether they can still be recovered.
