King Charles has been pictured in Scotland today for the first time since it was announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be returning to the UK.

The King looked relaxed as he drove his Range Rover on the A93 near Braemar on Saturday. Charles has been in Scotland since Tuesday, when he travelled to the Scottish Highlands for the Royal Family annual meet-up. On Friday, the Prince and Princess of Wales were pictured leaving Balmoral, as well as the Princess Royal and her brother, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Some reports suggested the family was holding a “summit” over the return of the Sussexes; however, it is understood the gathering is in keeping with a longstanding annual tradition of members of the extended Royal Family staying at Balmoral during the summer.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are coming back to Britain at the end of the month, six years after they stepped down as senior working royals.

Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have already been enrolled in British schools, it emerged.

Harry and Meghan will live in a non-royal residence outside of London.

Charles, who only found out about the duke and duchess’s plans three days before they became public, is said to be happy to be able to spend more time with the Sussex family, but remains adamant they will not be working royals.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not commented on their reasons for relocating to the UK.
