SH0CKING : Piers Morgan’s savage 2-word takedown after Prince Harry’s £50m blow

Piers Morgan has issued a savage response following Prince Harry’s failed court case against the Daily Mail publisher. In predictable Piers style, who has made his dislike for the Sussexes abundantly clear, he described it as a victory for the Mail while insulting the Duke and calling him “entitled” and a “hypocrite”.

Prince Harry and six other high-profile claimants lost their case yesterday after alleging that Associated Newspapers had gathered information unlawfully, including voicemail hacking.

Mr Morgan wrote on X today: “So happy for the Mail that they took on this entitled brat and won. Took real balls. Congrats Paul Dacre, Ted Verity, Peter Wright, and especially Lord Rothermere for throwing the very expensive kitchen sink at defending themselves from this loathsome hypocrite.”

Piers has been openly critical of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, whom he made controversial comments about following her memorable interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The journalist said he did not believe the duchess’s remarks about her mental health and suicidal thoughts during the interview, which prompted 41,000 complaints to broadcasting watchdog Ofcom and a formal complaint to ITV from Meghan. He stepped down from Good Morning Britain soon after, and claimed his refusal to apologise to Meghan cost him his job.

Following the verdict yesterday, Paul Dacre, the editor-in-chief at Associated Newspapers Limited, shared that the business spent more than £50million fighting the case, which it would seek to regain.

He said: “The truth is that this trumped-up action – which has cost well over £50 million and wasted a huge amount of valuable court time – should never have been brought to trial.

“That it did, raises profoundly disturbing questions about the conduct of elements of the legal profession. Today’s verdict is not just a victory for Associated’s magnificent journalists – several of whom have had a terrible toll imposed on their health and lives – but a free press generally.”

Prince Harry and fellow claimant Baroness Doreen Lawrence – the mother of Stephen Lawrence – said the judgement was a “complete and obvious whitewash”.

The statement added: “We came to court seeking justice and accountability. But we have received neither.”
