“UNBELIEVABLE!”: Real reason Queen Camilla was with King Charles for Harry and Meghan reunion

Royal fans were left surprised on Friday when Palace sources revealed King Charles and Queen Camilla had hosted Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet at his Highgrove home. Harry’s UK trip last week was full of so much drama it was believed the monarch may not see him – or his family, who flew in on Friday for a very brief visit.
It was also a surprise to discover Camilla was present for the reunion, given Harry has not always been particularly kind about his stepmother since quitting royal life. Regardless, Camilla was by her husband King Charles’ side for one real reason. This was reportedly so she could be a “witness” to the meeting and see the interactions between the father-and-son, who have reportedly had a rocky relationship for some time now.
This was claimed by author Sally Bedell Smith in her Royals Extra substack.
The royal author wrote: “After intense pressure, the prince ultimately got his way in securing a meeting with seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet at the royal Highgrove estate in Gloucestershire.
“But Harry had to yield to strict conditions imposed by Buckingham Palace: no photographs, nothing on social media, no advance leaks to the press, and no descriptions of what took place except a brief confirmation from the King’s office that it had occurred.
“Significantly, Queen Camilla was by her husband’s side, not least to serve as a witness to Charles’s interactions with his volatile younger son—as she had been in February 2024 when Harry came to London after Charles’s cancer diagnosis was revealed.”

Sally continued: “Harry’s wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was present but otherwise missing from the events of this past turbulent week.
“It was the first visit to the United Kingdom by Harry with his family since the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee in June 2022. The meeting with the King reportedly lasted just over an hour.”
No details about what the royals spoke about in the meeting have been shared.
