Abbey Clancy’s daughter, 15, was almost arrested in New York over firearm comments. 40-year-old Abbey, who recently travelled to the Big Apple with her children, Sophia Ruby, 15, Liberty, 11, Johnny, eight, and Jack, seven, has now revealed her holiday got off to a very chaotic start.
While arriving at New York, Sophia made a comment about a gun being linked to her fingerprints, which instantly caught the attention of the border force officer at the arrivals hall.
“Sophia nearly got arrested at the airport, we’re landing in New York, it’s kind of security heavy… strict,” she said. Speaking on the podcast The Therapy Crouch, which she shares with her husband, Abbey explained that it was impossible to crack a joke with the border force officers.

Abbey continued: “Those immigration officers are not fun. You cannot crack a joke with them. Sophia renewed her passport since she last visited the US, and she had to do her fingerprints.
“Sophia was like ‘Why do I have to do fingerprints? Is that in case there are fingerprints on the gun?’ They were like ‘Sorry Miss, what did you say? What fingerprints on the gun?’ and then she was like ‘There’s guns here and you could have my fingerprints…’ and they were like ‘What? your fingerprints are on a gun?'”
Abbey intervened as the situation escalated. Recalling the incident, she said: “I was like ‘No, my daughter is not saying her fingerprints are on a gun’, she’s saying ‘Is that how you catch criminals, if fingerprints are on a gun?'”

However, things didn’t end there. Instead, matters got worse just moments later when a woman left a bag unattended near Abbey, prompting security concerns.
“A lady left her bag and the queue spirals round and everyone was going ‘Whose is this?’,” Abbey said, adding: “At this point she was at the opposite end and I was right near the bag and I was thinking f***ing hell, so this poor woman got accused of leaving a bomb bag.
“She just left it at the end as she didn’t want to keep carrying it. So then we got our bags and the driver left us because we were taking too long and I just burst into tears.”
Abbey recently took to Instagram to share a string of snaps from their New York break for the World Cup. Captioning her upload, she penned: “Well that was special. World Cup final [red love hearts] congratulations to Spain.”
The post, which has been liked over 19,000 times, was soon flooded with comments. Denise Van Outen penned: “Beautiful,” alongside a heart eyes and red heart emoji.
Kate Williamson added: “Girls stunning, how are the boys looking so grown up?” “Such a gorgeous family,” said one fan. A second added: “You’re a good looking bunch.”
“Gorg all the family making special memories well done Spain,” commented another. The family enjoyed a trip on the Hudson River, seeing the Statue of Liberty up close, and introducing their daughter of the same name. “When Liberty met Liberty,” she said.
