BREAKING: William and Kate dealt crushing blow hours after Harry and Meghan’s UK return
William and Kate Face Fresh Sussex Pressure Hours After Harry and Meghan Return to Britain
Prince William and Princess Catherine have been placed under renewed scrutiny following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to Britain with their children.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly arrived at Birmingham Airport alongside Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, immediately raising questions over whether the family’s return could bring Harry and William closer together.
However, royal commentator and brand expert Nick Ede believes the Prince and Princess of Wales will approach the situation with extreme caution.
Nick, who has previously been described as a friend of Meghan, suggested William and Catherine would be determined to protect their family from another wave of speculation surrounding the brothers’ fractured relationship.
Any communication with the Sussexes is therefore likely to be carefully managed, particularly following previous occasions when private royal discussions became public.

William and Catherine expected to remain cautious
“William and Catherine are likely to be extremely cautious,” Nick said.
“They will want to protect the stability of their own family and avoid being drawn into another cycle of speculation, private conversations becoming public and every interaction being analysed.”
Neither William nor Catherine has publicly commented on Harry and Meghan’s arrival. There has also been no confirmation that the two couples intend to meet during the Sussex family’s stay.
Harry and William are reportedly not currently speaking, despite hopes that their father’s health and major royal occasions could eventually create an opportunity for reconciliation.
Their relationship has remained strained for several years following Harry and Meghan’s departure from official royal duties in 2020.
The divide became more severe after the Sussexes discussed private family tensions during television interviews, their Netflix documentary series and Harry’s 2023 memoir, Spare.
Those public disclosures are thought to have contributed to William’s reluctance to resume contact with his younger brother.
Catherine should not carry burden of reconciliation
Catherine has frequently been portrayed as a potential peacemaker between William and Harry because of her historically warm relationship with the Duke of Sussex.
Nick, however, argued that it would be unreasonable to place responsibility for repairing the brothers’ relationship on her shoulders.
“Catherine has often appeared to be a calming influence, but it would be unfair to expect her to act as the person responsible for repairing the relationship between the brothers,” he said.
The Princess of Wales has her own family and royal responsibilities to consider. Any attempt at reconciliation would ultimately need to come from William and Harry themselves rather than being arranged through Catherine.

Could the ‘Fab Four’ reunite?
Despite warning that tensions remain unresolved, Nick did not completely rule out seeing William, Catherine, Harry and Meghan together again.
A major family gathering or significant royal occasion could eventually bring the four into the same public setting.
“I wouldn’t rule out seeing the four of them together eventually, particularly at a major family or royal occasion,” he said.
However, he warned that any appearance should not be mistaken for a full restoration of their former relationship.
“A genuine ‘Fab Four’ reunion feels some way off,” Nick added. “That phrase belongs to a very different chapter in their lives.”
William, Catherine, Harry and Meghan were once widely referred to as the “Fab Four” when they appeared together as senior working royals.
Their joint appearances ended as tensions developed behind palace walls, eventually leading Harry and Meghan to step away from their roles and begin a new life in California.
The Sussexes’ return has now revived interest in whether that distance can be narrowed.
For the moment, however, there is no evidence that a meeting has been arranged or that William and Harry are ready to resume direct communication.
Harry and Meghan may be back on British soil, but their physical return does not mean the royal rift has been repaired. William and Catherine are expected to proceed carefully, with any future contact likely to take place away from the intense expectations of a public “Fab Four” reunion.
