Prince William and Princess Kate reportedly feel they have been “pushed into a corner” by Prince Harry’s return to Britain, with sources claiming the couple may now consider a face-to-face meeting with the Duke of Sussex.
Harry’s move back to the UK has reignited questions about his relationship with the Prince and Princess of Wales and how his future public activities could affect working members of the Royal Family.
Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe cited a source claiming William is particularly concerned about what his younger brother intends to do next.
“William is extremely concerned about what Harry’s return to Britain will mean for working members of the family,” the source said.
“It may well be too risky for them to just sit back and let Harry make the next move.”
The report suggests William and Kate could now believe direct talks are necessary to establish clearer boundaries for the future.
William and Kate Could Seek Face-to-Face Meeting
According to the source, the Prince and Princess of Wales allegedly feel they have little choice but to discuss the situation with Harry in person.
Such a meeting could give them an opportunity to “lay down, or at least reiterate, some of the rules” surrounding the Duke’s activities following his return.
There has been no official confirmation from Kensington Palace that any meeting has been arranged.
The suggestion therefore remains based on unnamed-source reporting rather than a confirmed plan from William, Kate or Harry.
Nevertheless, Harry’s presence in Britain has created a new dynamic after years in which the brothers largely lived on opposite sides of the Atlantic.
That renewed proximity has also increased scrutiny over whether their public schedules could clash and whether any form of reconciliation is possible.
Sussex Family Already Facing Difficult Start
Harry and Meghan’s return has not been without complications.
Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were reportedly withdrawn from their new school only days into the term after the family’s security team raised concerns about the school run.
Sources said the decision had nothing to do with the teachers, pupils or quality of the school itself, but instead centred on the practicalities of transporting the children safely.
Reports claimed heavy traffic and the lengthy journey put pressure on the Sussexes’ private security operation.
Parents at the original school were later described as “baffled” by the decision, with Archie and Lilibet having only just started settling into their new surroundings.
The change added another layer of disruption for the children following their move from the United States back to Britain.
Harry’s Birthday Highlights Distance Between Brothers
The continuing strain between William and Harry was also highlighted on the Duke of Sussex’s 42nd birthday.
William spent the day carrying out an engagement near Dartmoor, where he launched a regeneration fund intended to support the local community.
Harry, meanwhile, was reportedly at least a two-hour drive away in the Cotswolds, where he was expected to celebrate privately with Meghan, Archie and Lilibet.
There was no public indication that the brothers planned to meet.
Meghan marked Harry’s birthday with a personal Instagram tribute featuring family photographs, including an image of the Duke skiing with Lilibet.
For William and Kate, however, attention appears to be focused on what Harry’s longer-term presence in Britain could mean for the working monarchy.
The claim that they feel “pushed into a corner” should be treated as the assessment of unnamed sources rather than an official statement from the Waleses.
But if the reported face-to-face meeting does eventually happen, it could become one of the most significant private conversations between William and Harry since their relationship deteriorated.
