BREAKING NEWS: Harry and Meghan’s new TV moneymaker is ultimate blow to William – it will be step too far

Meghan’s involvement in the project has sparked uproar.

You often find yourself wondering what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going to do next, but this certainly wasn’t it. Prince Harry is reportedly planning a film about his late mother, Princess Diana, to mark the 30th anniversary of her death next year. He has reportedly already begun contacting friends and people who knew Diana, asking them to contribute to the project.

And, perhaps unsurprisingly, the news has left Prince William “frustrated”, while others are concerned that it could reignite tensions over the way Diana’s legacy is portrayed. With Harry and William’s feud already seemingly at the deepest it’s ever been, I’d say it was a pretty ballsy move from Harry, who surely would have known how a project like this would affect his brother.

But, we have to remember that Diana was Harry’s mother too. You could argue he has every right to celebrate her legacy in whatever way he chooses, particularly given that he lost her at such a young age and in such tragic circumstances.

However, it’s what came next that makes me think Harry has taken things one step too far – not that he’s unfamiliar with that.

It has now been reported that Meghan will narrate the film, although this has been denied by her representative. But even if Meghan is just “behind-the-scenes supporter”, in what world did Harry think this was a good idea?

Meghan’s arrival into Harry’s life preceded his decision to step down as a senior working royal in a move that tore the family apart along with his relationship with William.

William’s feelings towards Meghan were made public by Harry in his memoir, Spare, and it’s clear she played a significant role in their fallout.

Even after all that, Harry has reportedly decided to put someone his brother has an extremely complicated relationship with at the centre of a film about their mother.

A source told Rob Shuter: “William believes Diana’s legacy belongs to him. Harry making his own film is one thing. Meghan becoming the narrator of their mother’s story is something else entirely. That will be extremely difficult for William.”

And, frankly, I can understand why.

There have been reports that Harry has been trying to reach out to William in the hope of repairing their relationship and perhaps paving the way for some kind of reconciliation.

But then he goes and does this. For me, this feels like one step too far. I truly believe Harry can say goodbye to any hope of rebuilding bridges with his brother, and perhaps other members of the Royal Family, if he pushes ahead with his film with Meghan involved.
