SAD NEWS: BBC star makes ‘end-of-life’ claim as he says ‘I’m starting to think about it’
Countryfile presenter Adam Henson, 60, has been part of the BBC farming show since 2001 and opened up about his end-of-life plans during a visit to a Cotswolds care home

Adam Henson has opened up about contemplating his “end-of-life” during a frank discussion earlier this year. The Countryfile host, 60, confessed he’s reached an age where you start to consider your twilight years, but expressed hope he’d be content if he needed to relocate to a care facility, already having spotted a potential option.
The BBC star, who has been part of the beloved farming programme since 2001, shared his delight during a visit to a retirement home in the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire.
Speaking at Porthaven’s Cotswold Gate care home in Burford, the television personality was there to deliver a presentation about his lifelong connection with dogs, and remained afterwards to autograph books, according to Oxford Mail. Adam hailed the care home as an “absolute joy” and quipped with the audience about making a reservation.

“This one is just 20 minutes from home, and coming through Burford is gorgeous,” he remarked. “The home is beautifully capped and decorated, and I was sitting in this room that has amazing wallpaper, thinking ‘I’d quite like this in my house’.”
Adam continued: “The interior design of these places is so lovely, and I’m getting to an age when I’m starting to think about my end-of-life, and where I’ll go and what I’ll do and what it’s going to be like.”, reports the Express.
“I’m hoping my children will be rich enough to pay for me to go into a very nice home like this!”.
The Countryfile host described the retirement home as “faultless”, however, has no immediate plans to retire. Away from the small screen, Adam operates Cotswold Farm Park near Guiting Power, which attracts thousands of visitors annually.
When he’s not fulfilling his broadcasting duties, the presenter enjoys life with his wife Charlotte, with whom he’s been together since their teenage years. The couple share two adult children, Alfie and Ella.
His spouse, affectionately known as “Charlie”, was diagnosed with stage one pancreatic cancer after falling ill over Christmas 2020. Adam married Charlotte in a private ceremony surrounded by close family during the Covid-19 pandemic, just 24 hours before her vital operation.
